Yeah. Giving up (next to) nothing on top of it.

Not a terrible deal for Indy. Penny could start dying in TC this season.

I'm not bitching about it but I found this a little funny... Clippers Send Battier and Clippers 2007 first to Wolves For Kwame Brown I have a glut at SF and Brown is a great prospect I didn't know great prospects dipped in two categories in their 2nd TC.

Well every trade I makes gets bashed so what is new. I mainly am tired of hearing how I do nothing. Half the league is a lot less active than I am. I know I gave up too much but it was a better trade than most I have been offered. I offered Battier to several teams and was getting now where and I had a glut at SF. I added my first to get the deal done because it seems like I have to over pay to get things done.

No, overpaying would be what Boozer just fetched.

If Boozer can get 3 first round picks I'm concerned what the rest of the market for players is at this point. That is crazy, but who knows, maybe he turns into a stud and those picks don't amount to much.

Yeah holy shit 3 firsts. I wouldve given my left nut for 3 firsts.
I'm pretty sure Boozer < left nut

When Robby informed me that he wanted 3 first in exchange for Boozer, I expected Boozer to be a 76er at least until he was a FA. Needless to say I was shocked to see someone actually pay up so much for Boozer.

So who's he gonna play out of position? Brand or Boozer?

It wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't already been through THREE training camps. That's a backbreaker. He's Pau Gasol Part II. Speaking of Gasol, anyone else think the Cavs shoulda either kept Sofo or shopped him around more?

Like I said, I would have given up Smith for Sofo

Yeah, Im still a little nervous about the deal. I will probably have to overpay Gasol to stay in Cleveland, and will have to camp West to turn him into a solid player. But I was worried Sofo appears better than is, and has low potential. I think I can get near 15 and 10 out of Gasol, and maybe 12 and 8 to 10 out of West after a trip to the D League and a camp. I could have gotten a better player, but I wanted a big man back, plus a project. I am set everywhere but down low, hopefully I got both positions set down there with this trade

So you should have just spent the 500 to make sure of his potential rather than toss the risk away. At the very least, you have a JO on your team, who just netted about 80 million on the market.

I'm not questioning you moving him, I just think you shoulda seen what else was out there. I know personally I probably would have ponied up some picks and a young guy like Ben Gordon or something in a deal for him.

I just like my chances with both of those big men. They both have C outside, which means they both have good jump shot, cause they don't shoot threes. I can camp their strength, because I believe they are both pretty good down low as well. I think Sofo is one dimensional, though I really dont know, and probably will be bad with the jumpshot and from the free throw line. It very well could be a bad trade in the future, but I wanted to get West into the D league for a year of fine tuning, and didn't have time to waste since the season starts tonight

Although Gasol has gone through his fair share of TCs to date I still think he has a small window of improvement left. Besides, he's a good defender, hes a 7fter, & he can shoot FTs well..so although he may not ever be a top tier big man he should still be a solid asset. But ya, trading him and West for Sofo was a no brainer for me.. Sofo needs to work on his jump shot and probably his quickness as well since hes fat. but his ability to score and block shots alone at 19 is just kind of scary. I think I can finally leave my frontcourt alone and work on the 1 and 2 positions.
