I guess you guys haven't seen Sofo in all SSBL's. He makes Shaq look like John Amaechi during his homo years.

Yeah, afro knows what he wants - It's not like he got Badiane as the center piece. I mean come on, only I would try something like that Sofo is an adequate replacement IMO, and yeah I hear Sofo is a monster in all previous SSBL's. AI, yeah, thats the iffy, but whoever up above said it's priceless having your own pick is dead on. I'd give up anything if it meant getting my own pick back when I was rebuilding. When you're rebuilding, its not about what you get back in a sense, it's more of what you get rid of. Afro got rid of 31 million dollars, albeit expiring, but why not get something for those expirings if you can. I think the deal is fine, and I'm guessing most of you are pissed because you didn't get the a chance to jump on it yourselves

Now I must say, the deal which gave the 76ers Eddy Curry is the iffy one. Make it part of the bigger picture and it makes sense, but I'm sure he could of received more for the big fatty from Philly.
Even if I did know that I was getting Shaq, I wouldn't have settled for Kenny Thomas, 2 shitty picks and 1400 cash for an up and coming center.

Stephens, that "shitty" grizz pick netted him Shaq/AI. The 3 of us were in talks all along to make it work, it was more of a 3-way trade then anything. I held the bargaining chip because I had the Grizz 06 pick...its called hustling baby!

Ha, well yeah like I said after the fact, it turned out to be great, but again even if I knew it was going to net me Shaq - whose a pretty serviceable young big - I still would have asked for more.
Not hatin', just negotiatin'

Stephens is right, i could of held out and asked for more if i tried. you know you dig Curry in the league as much as you might hate him in real life.

and it wasn't a 3 way trade at all because 76ers didn't receive anything from the Grizzlies. so if you really look at it the trade between me and the 76ers was a rape. but if you look at the whole picture it makes sense.

Right, but all 3 of us knew what was going on the whole time. You wouldnt have traded me Curry if you didnt have the Memphis deal to back up, you know what Im saying.

B B- C- D+C-.... Knicks starting lineup's rebounding. Amar'e could be averaging 15 rips a game and that team would still suck on the boards. Losing on the boards 54-48. Good luck winning with that.

Spurs are kind of stuck in a hard place, but I didn't see this one coming. Not terrible terrible, but I thought McGrady would have gotten more back.
As for the Knicks, nice steal for them. Paul-Amare-McGrady is a nice 1-2-3

Honestly, I was hoping for more but I started to realize that I wasn't going to get what I really wanted. I had some offers that were around big expiring contracts and a pick or two (which the picks go down in value once a team gets T-Mac). This way I get what I am hoping are two quality young guys to pair with Bynum and Bibby. Dump Mobley's contract and head into the offseason with a likely lotto pick and cap space to work with. Either it will work and I'll look smart or I'll be in a contract year fairly soon.

I actually thought it was pretty fair. 3 fairly young guys for tmac. It really hurts to lose Okafor, but couldnt pass up the opportunity to add a player of Tmacs abilities

The spurs definitely got a nice package. Okafor has improved a lot this year and will only improve more for at leas the next couple years and hes yet to be camped. West can be a good combo guard, and has all his camps too.

im happy for the Knicks here very nice move for them, but the truth of the matter is that the Spurs got owned Yes, because your deal with Grant Hill's expiring, Darko, and Sato (a pair of D-League Guys) and two first round picks that likely wouldn't have much value was so much better.

I wouldn't say that Okafor has improved a lot, not even close really. I also don't buy the improved more over the course of the next few years thing either. West is solid, but a little redundant. Lewis is just filler really, doesn't bring anything.
The fact that there is no cash or picks kind of makes it bad for the Spurs IMO.
However Spurs again were stuck in the middle and their making their move. Can't argue with that really. Most of the teams around the league have made their moves for the year so the market is a little weak.
