I'm not sure I buy into that yet.. like you said, they still have yet to play good against a great team like LA or boston. I still think they lose a 7 game series against a great team... meaning they shouldn't make it past the conference finals...

I'm not even sure what to think of the moves the magic made today although defensively having turk and arenas on the floor at the same time could be interesting
for the other team

Well at this point i think Jrich and vince are equal to each other... the loss of gortot is the problem Turk sure did nice with orlando was it a fluke or was it just how he meshed with the squad?

The Magic took a HUGE gamble. This team now has no defense out of D12. They're quickly turning into the Knicks. They will need to outscore their opponent. Also what happens when D12 is in foul trouble or worst case injured...Down goes the Magic.

Id say Jrich is better then Vince...That Hedo will perform better then in Toronto and Phoenix...The X factor is Arenas...He could destroy them or really help them. But yeah, defensively they will be more vunerable, one Nelson or Arenas will match up against Wade, Allen...And the salaries...Thats the biggest problem for me, if it doesnt work out, they added a TON of salary thats gonna be tough to move. But one article said their chemistry was iffy, so I guess something had to be done.

I'm amazed at the power, the energy, the level of commitment and risk involved with all of this.. I just can't believe one single power at be can just **POOF** change the way people look at them so FAST, and with such utter disregard for the past! I mean... Just wow. I'm speechless that this one entity can undergo so much change, to turn from this underachieving, middle of the road, laughing stock of...well, EVERYTHING!..SO FAST! My gosh.. Just think about it -- Two days ago Adrian Wojnarowski was a nobody when he reported this: sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-magictradetalks121710 -- (Look, he even equated himself with a slug: "slug=aw") If anyone read that report, I'm almost certain everyone thought to themselves, "Shut up Woj" Look who's ridin' the high tide now fellas... His report was actually ACCURATE. Adrian Wojnarowski is now GOD.. in his own eyes of course.

I absolutely agree 100% though. Nelson, Arenas, Richardson, Hedo and Dwight on the defensive end is going to be like watching old folks navigate around the physical therapist during "dance class"
Only one person there really knows what they're doing.

jrich > vc all day
arenas > shard all day
turk,clark ~ piet, gortat
win win trade for the magic. they have the best defensive big man in the game so they can play team defense around him. should be interesting to see how far they go with all these scorers

Don't get too attached to AWOJs jock he is wrong way more often than the avg NBA reporter which is kinda like saying Peter Vescey is good at his job. NBA beat reporters just make stuff up after playing with the trade machine on ESPN

i hate beat writers in general. "according to a source"...so vague
the guy in the corner of the room could be "a source"

I like the deal for the Magic, but surely there has to be a follow up trade to get them some help down low. This team is in trouble without Howard.

Is anyone else as excited for the NBA playoffs this year as me? I'll tell you why I am - having the Knicks in the playoffs again, especially with that team they currently have, is going to be an electric place in May. I personally can't wait to see some MSG home playoff games
