SSBL has a soft salary cap and a hard cap.
For the 2009 Season:
Soft cap: $45,000,000 (+1 mil)
Hard cap: $80,000,000
For the 2008 Season:
Soft cap: $44,000,000
Hard cap: $78,000,000
For the 2007 Season:
Soft cap: $43,500,000
Hard cap: $77,000,000
For the 2006 Season:
Soft cap: $42,000,000
Hard cap: $75,000,000
For the 2005 Season:
Soft cap: $40,000,000
Hard cap: $72,000,000
For the 2004 Season:
Soft cap: $38,000,000

HC rules (amended 2002):
If a team reaches or exceeds the hard cap, the team must get under the hard cap within three days (not three sims, three days) before incurring penalties.
The penalties are as follows:
After a commish officially posts that you are over HC, you ahve 48 hours. After 48 hours is up, you are hit with a $1500 fine and also Penalty 1. Penalty 1 is either of the following:
24 hours after that, you are hit with Penalty 2: YOU'RE FIRED
You basically have 3 days or else
Trade Deadline Addendum: If two teams agree to a trade that will bring one team over the hard cap, we will void that trade completely.

- best player gets IR'd for the rest of the year
