Amare has to be the worst defender. Steve and I point it out every knicks game we watch. basic stuff like...where to be on a pick and pop, pick and roll, help defense, putting your hands up, boxing out...he just looks like an idiot standing around lost. and then the other team scores and he gets mad and slaps the ball with both hands after a made bucket...as if he says "shit! (o well)" If I were to accurately give him ratings I would give him: A- C D+ C+ C+ B eh, if you were gonna give him a C+ in defense, and rebounding then you might as well give him an A inside, cos those ratings wouldn't be an accurate representation of the man's skills. He'd have to be good enough to make an AS team, and with those ratings he'd be nothing more than a low post threat. He is actually a decent defender when he wants to be, and was doing a lot better at it until melo came and messed things up. At least give the man a B in defense. No way man, not at all. I absolutely agree with Ray's ratings for Amare. Probably the worst defender in the NBA right now. Luca you think he's good at defense? I probably watched 60 games out of the 82 regular season games and watched the 4 game mess when the Knicks went to the postseason. The team never played defense pre melo trade or not. If anyone has watched the Knicks play, if you see Amare on any defensive possession he just stares and watches, loosing sight of his man and of the ball. He's just a defensive liability. |

One man can't do it alone. |
