murphy is ok for now, puts less pressure on Favors to become an instant star, but...
really? now the nets have even less capspace and its not like Murphy is a tradable asset come the deadline. Capspace+Lee is of more value

Well now I'm glad they didn't move Taj Gibson. Woulda been brutal with Kurt Thomas or Asik out there 30 mins a night. Or Deng at the 4 for 20+ mins.

Sell: Crazy scenario...Jets claim him to block him from going to Pats, then they deactivate him the rest of the year. there's no way the Jets get him..they're 3rd or 4th to last on the waiver list and theres like 8 teams ahead of them I could see claiming him |

One of MANY busts so far in this league, hehe. I love it when people play the "he could still have another good TC left in him" game too. Guys that have been through 4-5 TCs, any good shift in ratings in future TCs is 100% random. A 23 year old that has been through 4-5 TCs is almost as likely to improve as a 33 year old. |

One of MANY busts so far in this league, hehe. there have been busts, but there have also been a handful of players that turned out to be nice steals from the drafts as well...Qrich, Jaric, Celestand, Hedo, House, Fizer come to mind |

Greg Oden set for another microfracture surgery today officially ending his season. So far he's played just 82 games in 3 1/2 years.
I told everyone he'd be the next Sam Bowie - everyone thought I was crazy. Ya gotta feel bad for him though. Young kid excited to play, cursed by natural phenomenon being so huge at such a young age. Huge people age so much faster than a 6 footer.

He's not the next Sam Bowie. Didn't play enough to be Sam Bowie. IMO he's a monster of his own kind. Sam at least had a few solid seasons. It is funny that franchise can't manage to keep a "franchise center" healthy. Walton, Bowie, Oden. At least Walton won em a title. I never realized just how good he was until I read Bill Simmons book.

The Greg Oden thing sucks. Everyone says "shoulda picked KD" but a healthy Greg Oden,,,who knows how nasty the Blazers would be right now and for years to come

Good point - like you said, Bowie played a little. I was more referring to all the hype about who to pick that year - Jordan, or Bowie...just like Oden and Durant.
He's not lack of skill whatsoever, just bum knees. I heard that a scout referred to his knees in pre-draft camps as "40 year old knees". Kid was 19 at that time. Sad sad.

People had asked me in the past about it and really, it's the experimental period. See how this guy does here or there, at this option or that option. If injuries mattered, it'd be completely different. Nobody would ever play the talent that matter. Gotta consider the trade ramifications too. A lot of people being foolish and trading their star talent for a mediocre talent because he averaged 20 and 8 against everyone else's bullshit roster fodder. It happens now to a certain extent, it'll only get worse. No sir, I don't like it. ;D |
