One contributing factor to the league's ratings going absolute friggin' apeshit was because of camps. Camps are going to continue to be a nice boost to a player, but not at the levels it once was.
Rating Camps:
We're not separating camps, they're all the same. Five attribute points will be given to a player in any one category you wish.
Here's the price for camping a specific player:
1st Camp: $2000
2nd Camp: $2500
3rd Camp: $3000
Categories (and which ratings section they effect) include...
Inside Scoring: IN
Jump Shot: OUT
Three Point Shot: OUT
Handling: HAN
Quickness: HAN, DEF, REB
Passing: HAN
Stealing: DEF
Shot Blocking: DEF
Post Defense: DEF
Perimeter Defense: DEF
Drive Defense: DEF
Offensive Rebounding: REB
Defensive Rebounding: REB
Strength: IN, DEF, REB
Jumping: IN
Potential: POT (No more coaches pet, this is a camp!)
Camp Rules
1: You may only purchase camps during the offseason or all-star break (between sim #5 and #6)
2: Teams are limited to two camps per season
3: Players are limited to three camps in their career
4: You cannot camp a player's jumping or quickness after they're 30 years old
5: A player cannot exceed more then one camp in any given season
5a: One "season"= Beginning of the draft until end of playoffs, so you CAN camp someone ASW of 1994, as well as beginning of offseason 1995
Other things to purchase...
Take A Year(s) Off A Contract: $2500 for one season - $5000 for two seasons
You can only make a player an expiring, you cannot dump them. Example: Vlade Divac has 2 years left on his deal, you can only cut one, making him an expiring. If he had 3 years left, 2 could be cut. DEADLINE IS END OF THE PLAYOFFS (when Re-Signings are due)
Buy-out A Player: $1000 per season
Have a contract you absolutely hate? Dread paying? Want the player to just GO AWAY!? Well you can buy out a player for $1000 per season. So if the guy's got 5 years left on his deal? $5000.
But...
Whatever the player's owed for the duration of the deal is cut in half and still will count towards your payroll. So say Shaq is owed $30 million (total) over the next 3 years of his contract. That will be cut in half ($15 million) and will be evened out over the duration of those 3 years ($5 million per) and added to your "cut salaries" and WILL count against your cap. If it cannot be cut in half and rounded into the number of years evenly, it will be rounded down to the nearest dollar amount that'd make it work.
"Special Injection": $1500
Cuts an injury by 50%. If the injury is an odd number, it will be rounded up. So if they're hurt 51 days, you can cut it to 26 with this.
The Other Misc. Ratings: $1500
For $1500, you can purchase either 15 points in the Loyalty, Play For a Winner or Greed ratings. Obviously you don't want to pay to make someone MORE greedy, it'll knock it DOWN 15 points. You may also be interested in kicking down the Play For A Winner rating, that's cool too, just specify.
Trade Exception: $500 per million, up to $5 million ($2500)
Add/reduce salary to make a trade work under the FBB trade rules. You cannot purchase a trade exception any larger then $5 Million.
Trading MLE or LLE players:
Trading a player signed to MLE or LLE will cost $500 for MLE and $250 for LLE
Scout True Potential: $500
This is limited to either your own players or draft prospects. You MUST post the players name when you spend the cash.
Private Pre-Draft Workout: $600
Hold a private workout with a prospect. Learn the player's strengths/weaknesses to get a better idea of what their letter grades correspond to. Is the B+ defense mean Chris Andersen is only a shot blocker, but sucky post defender? or vice versa? Scout true potential is included here as well. Results of the workout and the potential is PM'd. Limited to draft prospects only.[/color]
Weight Addition: $400 for 10 lbs.
Players are limited to a 30 lb. increase.
Deactivate Fourth Season Of Rookie Deal: $250
If your 1st round pick hasn't been living up to his potential, you can cut the 4th season out of his deal for a $250 payment. Due: Finals of 3rd year of contract (He cannot be in the 4th year already!)
Assign a prospect to the D-League at ASW: $200
Missed the Sim 1 Deadline? You can assign a kid to the D-League at All Star Weekend for a price of $200
Renouncing an Overseas Player's rights:
Don't like how you're player isn't progressing the way you would have liked? You may renounce a player's rights if he stays overseas for two or more seasons. When a prospect is renounced, the renouned player is sent into the FA pool. Also, your team is entitled to pay his salary that he would have earned on your team (counts against your salary for the year you renounce).
Example: Let's say I renounce the rookie I drafted 3 years ago who spent 3 years in Europe. He's not on my roster right now, but he WOULD HAVE made $332,817 if he were on my roster this year. That amount counts against my salary cap as a "cut player"
You must pay a $250 renouncing fee (why? you basically got to see his ratings for x amount of seasons without affecting your cap)
