They Be Strugglin'
A true story about laziness and incompetence
Every season, another player doesn't perform the way he is expected to by his team. Every year, a player is traded for next to nothing because of this lack of production most of the time spurning his ex-team into bitterness. Each team has a player like so, but some players just really, really suck ass.
This is a list of those players.
These guys missed their exit
10. 2008 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 20
Name: DeAndre Jordan
Team: Knicks
Pos: C
Age: 24
Height: 7'0''
Weight: 260
Career Stats:
Minutes: 17.1
Points: 3.6
Rebounds: 5.3
Assists: 0.6
Blocks: 0.9
Yeah, Jordan was drafted toward the end of the 1st round - but he was drafted in a pretty deep draft. He was one of the most sought after centers in the draft after the fact, before his first D-League stint, and some teams were offering pieces of their starting lineup in hopes of getting the young center in return.
So, uh, DeAndre... This is what the 76ers paid you to learn all this time. Better stick to the bench big guy.
Well, since his draft night, Jordan has failed to prove much of anything, even with a true A potential coming into the league. He struggles on offense, defense, and can't seem to position himself in any good place on the floor. A true lackluster performer in every sense.
9. 2004 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 6
Name: Luol Deng
Team: Celtics
Pos: SF
Age: 27
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 220
Career Stats:
Minutes: 30.3
Points: 10.1
Rebounds: 6.9
Assists: 2.6
Steals: 1.4
Turnovers: 2.0
Luol was drafted with very high expectation. Year after year teams gave him a chance. He's played with 4 teams in just 8 years already, and has failed to make an impression with any of them. However, all hope is not yet lost. Luol has recently hitched a ride on the Celtics championship team, doing pretty bad in his time given (9 points, 7 rebounds in 30 minutes). Maybe when he hits the FA market, a team will see that championship experience and take a chance. Maybe he'll stick with the rebuilding Celtics and make a bigger impact once some of their Hall-of-Famers leave.
No matter what happens, Luol Deng's value is fairly low at this point in his career.
8. 2010 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 8
Name: Enes Kanter
Team: Raptors
Pos: PF
Age: 20
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 250
Career Stats:
Minutes: 23.3
Points: 7.4
Rebounds: 7.4
Assists: 1.0
Blocks: 0.6
Turnovers: 1.9
Yeah, he's only in his 3rd year. Guess what? He was a top ten pick. Normally by now if he was set to make an impact, he would have at least gotten better in one category. Just one, Enes? No? Really? Okay...
While his statistics aren't that bad, his supporting statistics are terrible - half a steal, half a block and 2 turnovers per game. Combine that with bad shooting percentages and Kanter looks to hit the waiver wire real soon.
7. 2007 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 5
Name: Corey Brewer
Team: Mavericks
Pos: SF
Age: 26
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 185
Career Stats:
Minutes: 24.3
Points: 8.4
Rebounds: 3.9
Steals: 1.0
Well, Carlos waited 4 seasons for Brewer to prove his 5th overall selection in a studded draft. Finally, Carlos gave up, and sure enough Brewer has his first productive season since he was drafted. Of course, Brewer got lazy even as an employee of JCarter, proving a change of scenery was not the answer. Despite being drafted with high expectations Brewer has failed to average at least 10 points a game, 5 rebounds or 1.4 steals in 4 of his 5 measly seasons. I'm actually questioning whether he should be higher...
6. 2009 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 4
Name: Kevin Love
Team: Clippers
Pos: Currently Center (Natural PF)
Age: 24
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 255
Career Stats:
Minutes: 26.1
Points: 10.8
Rebounds: 8.6
Assists: 3.0
Steals: 0.7
Blocks: 0.5
Yeah, he has em' alright... 6 Fouls, 1 rebound, 2 points.
The only problem that can be seen with Love is his inability to stay on the god damn basketball court. Constantly getting into foul trouble, Love is almost destined for a limited role off the bench, even though he was drafted with the 4th overall selection in 2009. He's efficient with the ball, turning it over only 1.9 times per game since he was drafted, and he can even hit the jumper - but his overweight non-athletic ass is too slow and too uncoordinated to play the game at a high pace or for an extended period of time. Every year he gets a chance, and every year, he fails to impress.
5. 2008 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 10
Name: Roy Hibbert
Team: Pacers
Pos: C
Age: 26
Height: 7'2"
Weight: 272
Career Stats:
Minutes: 18.1
Points: 5.2
Rebounds: 5.2
Blocks: 0.9
Well, not much more can be said without sounding like a broken record. In Hibbert's case, he is much like DeAndre Jordan - high expectation and absolutely no progression since the time he was drafted.
He's tall, has a decent jumper, can handle the ball well for a big - but he plays like he is just 6 foot tall. Timetoshine has been waiting 4 long years for this Hoya to burst out, but all he's done is bust. Ouch.
4. 2008 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 6
Name: Eric Gordon
Team: Trailblazers
Age: 24
Pos: SG
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 215
Career Stats:
Minutes: 23.8
Points: 8.9
Rebounds: 3.6
Assists: 2.3
Steals: 0.9
Gordon has been playing fair as of late, but nothing anyone would say warrants being selected 6th overall for. This year marks the 5th time Gordon attented a training camp, and he is still getting attention as a "could" be type of player.
In just 5 years, Gordon has played for 4 teams. Not a great track record if you ask me. IIRC, he was even dealt a few times in his 2nd season, which would make that 5 teams? 6 teams? Whatever the number, one thing remains constant - nobody thinks he can play.
3. 2006 Draft: Round 1 Pick 6
Name: Jaokim Noah
Team: Raptors
Pos: C
Age: 26
Height: 7'0"
Weight: 223
Career Stats:
Minutes: 25.7
Points: 5.4
Rebounds: 8.0
Blocks: 1.2
So here we have our first meh player. Noah is a half decent defender, better rebounder, but is absolutely horrible on offense. When he was drafted, it was almost guaranteed he'd be the Center of the future for Brandon. "Never have to draft a Center again" he says. "Jaokim for President"
I made that last part up. But you get the point - you don't spend a 6th overall selection on a Center if you're not keeping him. So, like I said - he's not bad, but he sure as hell isn't worth what Brandon spent.
THIS IS WHERE THINGS GO FROM "YEAH THEY'RE BAD" TO MOST INFAMOUS UNDER-PERFORMERS IN SSBL HISTORY....
These were the collective faces (in chronological order) after the following players' respective GM's finally realized... they sucked.

All Time Suck List:
You know when 2 sucks are playing each other - they wear the wrong jerseys. D'OH!
2. 2003 Draft: Round 1 - Pick 5
Name: Chris Bosh
Team: Bulls
Pos: C/PF/SF
Age: 28
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 220
Well - Bosh is number two, I'm guessing you can already name number 1. Yeah, I might as well go over it here. Dwight Howard is number one for 1 reason - he was taken number 1 overall. Bosh, well he might be the biggest disappointment. Whoever was manning the Rockets back in '03 was under the impression Bosh would turn into a perennial All-Star, a 20/10 type offensive big that only comes around once every 3 years, and the same can be said about Dwight! Both of these guys were taken with high expectation, and neither have become a force to be reckoned with, as suggested. Both are epic fails.
And, as this entire Top 10 list has gone, both players keep getting "2nd chances" with new teams year after year...
Chris Bosh Career Stats:
Minutes: 26.6
Points: 8.8
Rebounds: 8.0
Assists: 1.9
Blocks: 1.3

Minutes: 30.5
Points: 8.5
