J-Mychal Reese PG 6'2'' 170 19 C C B+ C+ D+ A
Reese leaves a lot to be desired on the offensive end of the floor, however is a pure playmaker and nothing short. Many question his size and ability to match up with the bigger more physical guards of the SSBL, however with his quickness in the halfcourt, he should be able to hold his own given he goes to a team with a dominating post presence.
Marquis Teague PG 6'2'' 165 19 B- C+ B- B+ C- A
The star of the draft, Marquis is the younger, more talented brother of Jeff Teague. Many will say the only reason he is so much better than his brother is his physical gifts - comparable to many successful SSBL PG's such as Marcus Williams and Jordan Farmar. The SSBL may be looking at it's next superstar, coincidentally coming from the PG factory that is Kentucky.
Kendall Marshall PG 6'3'' 170 21 C C B+ B- D- C
Marshall, like Reese, is one of the top playmakers in the 2012 draft. Similarly to Reese, Marshall struggles to find his own shot on the offensive end, but can make an open jumper from time to time. He puts his teammates first, and on a team full of offensive talent, will have no problem acclimating the the big leagues
Kenny Boynton PG 6'2'' 170 21 C+ B C+ C+ D- A
Kenny Boyton made a name for himself at Florida by being able to fill the basket in any way possible. He has a great jump shot, can hit SSBL-range 3 pointers, and is also a great penetrator. While he can handle the ball extremely well, his passing ability still needs work. Many will point to the fact that he had almost no support on offense, but that can also be attributed to his lack of distribution. Still, Boynton should get a few looks in the mid-first.
Myck Kabongo PG 6'1'' 160 19 C+ C+ B+ B D A
The Canadian-born star from Texas comes in as possibly the best "safe" pick in the PG crop. A lot of scouts question Teague's playmaking ability and how it will translate, and no other prospect has the all-around set of skills that Kabongo possesses. A sure shot lotto pick.
Anthony Gurley PG 6'2'' 185 24 C C+ B- C+ D B
Anthony Gurley is an under the radar player, being a more traditional point without the physical tools of the star PG's we've seen enter the league lately. A Jason Williams type player, Gurley will do what is asked of him at any point during the game, Being one of the oldest prospects, what you see is what you get.
Durand Scott PG 6'3'' 195 21 C+ B- B- C+ D B
The jury is out on Scott - he could burst onto the scene, or he could drop to the 2nd round and be forgotten. He has all the tools to become a decent Point, but his biggest knock is a double edged sword - his drive for the game can sometimes lead him to play out of control and maturity is a big issue. Solid handling skills, and is also a great post scorer for his size.
Ian Miller PG 6'3'' 190 21 C B- B- C+ D B
Miller played most of his career at Florida behind Kenny Boynton. He possesses better handling but can't fill the hoop like his teammate. If Miller can work on his defense, he could become a serviceable journeyman in the SSBL.
Jordan Taylor PG 6'1'' 195 23 C+ B B- C+ C- C
One of the better shooters in the PG crop. Taylor brings a nice array of tools to start off in the league. Despite his size, he's not very agile and is a North-South runner in the halfcourt setting. His strength allows him to muscle opponents around on defense, and also allow him to finish strong at the basket. He should get ample consideration in the first round.
Tu Holloway PG 6'1'' 185 23 C+ B C+ B- D C
Holloway is an interesting prospect out of Xavier University, leading the team in scoring for his 4 year tenure. One of the best scorers out of the PG crop, Tu can get it done from anywhere on the floor. He possesses great speed, which is uses on defense as well as offensively. A great athlete, Holloway is a complete package.
