Just curious because it does seem like were getting to that point. In this league how many more current drafts do we have? Do people like the idea of high schoolers and eight graders? Retro? Reboot? Fictional? End of the league? Take a few hits of E and fuck til were sore?
What is it. Curious to see what people think

My draft database / excel file is pretty extensive...so I'm going to make as many classes with actual names/scouting reports as I can
Not sure what year that will be.

Is this the majority state-of-mind with all the GMs? That his league is on its way out anyway?
Which maeks me wonder. Do people like Infinity better than this league? the few times I check the boards there, I see people posting there alot, writing articles, and get jealous....

I think it's safe to say that Infinity is more active, but this league has it's ups and downs. To me this league was down this year, myself included. I think between the few GM's that rarely show up and between the few guys that were on vacations this season this was a slow one for sure.

When leagues continue for so long people lose the desire to be really honest. Its like marriage basically But if we do something to spice the league up, im sure more people will want to party. IMO after like 3 or 4 years we do retro just to get things spicey...

Actually, I feel activity is better here then before I took a break from FBB since you can never quit. But yeah, lately I sometimes feel like I talk trades with the same GMs.

I think amanuel's retro idea after a few more years of actual names would definitely spice things up. But, I know how much you love retro, ray.

I don't know if people have lost interest, but I'm with Nick in that it definitely feels like I'm always talking trade with the same teams.

IMO after like 3 or 4 years we do retro just to get things spicey... longevity of the league is not a reason for people to lose interest. It's the people losing interest's fault. I've been in league's that went on for 25ish years. Mind you, this league started in 1998 ...which actually was a continuation of ssblv3 which ended at 1999 also, and started in 1989

Anything but fictional. And while it's on the topic, retro too. No to both.
I like the idea of extending. or maybe taking all the all-stars from this league, climbing onto a time traveling ship and taking our talents to 1980 and imploring them there.
That last idea was fake.

Anything but fictional, and I dont think the league is dying. Atleast it doesn't seem like it, just natural with summer rolling around more people are going on vacation, myself included. This past season I missed almost all of it due to vacations, but Im back for good now

Also just wanted to point out that when I said were getting to that point I meant that we should start talking about the upcoming drafts. If you have a extensive database of drafts then that's great to know.

What I always had a fantasy of doing was (besides two chicks at the same time) sort of making up children of ex-SSBL players.
Guys who retired 5 years ago would be 40 something now, and thus, their children would be around 15-16 years old. We should make a "watch-list" of children of former SSBL stars and how they are doing in high school. All of this, of course, would be fictional - but it wouldn't be "Skyler Hiscock" fictional.

I'm pretty sure he's ashamed of them and wants to adopt Kobe.

agreed with not doing fictional players.....but after a few more years I wouldn't mind rewinding and starting again in the 1990's somewhere.....not a huge fan of goin retro but it wouldn't bother me so much

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not end the league to start a new one back in the 90s. I've always wanted to be part of a league that has an extremely deep history(25+years). When we run out of real names, lets just go back to the 50's and 60's..combine some of those drafts. Then head on to the 70s,80s, etc. Maybe mix it up so that 60's and 80's stars could be in the same class(would be a cool wild card). Would be cool to see Derrick Rose and a Wilt Chamberlin on the same team. Just don't go fictional and do not start over. History in this league is awesome and I love to keep track of my stats from way back when. Oh, this is not a question, this is a damn demand Ray!!
Now let me say something and be honest IN MY OPINION and this is NO ONEs fault because life does take over sometimes. There were numerous times this year Ray got intoxicated, and had double dildo anal to anal sex at a night club in Manhattan and didn't sim nor got the chance to tell us cause his ass was getting pounded. All the late sims with no communication always made me say "Fuckin' Ray, again, dammit". With Brians league, he is always on time and I know when I click on the board at 11:01 pm EST I can see Brian checking depth charts. But like I said, Ray it isn't your fault that you party too much and get busy, good for you. If there is a way you could communicate with someone and let people know when the sim is going to be late, or the next day(sometimes you do, sometimes you don't), I think that would help a lot and keep everyone on the same page. I could have sworn there were 3 or 4 times when I thought you died or got raped in an alley in Vegas.
On the real though, this league is sick man. Go with my plan though...because Stone Cold said so.

I feel we can pump out several more draft classes before even thinking about going retro, but retro is a GREAT idea if the league needs something new and fresh (ironic, I know) Love the pacing and community, although I wish some (Lakers, etc) were more involved

Highly disagree with going back that far. If we do RETRO, the earliest time should be after the advent of the 3 POINT LINE. Or else outside shooting will die/the 3 pt ratings will be based off opinion (many mid range shooters aren't great 3 pt shooters, etc) Would heavily be against going any further back than the 80's

the league seems to have a really solid core of gms so i think we should be able to keep it going. but it gets tough recruiting new gms when your way into the future so things could eventually get rough but the idea of eventually going retro is intriguing.. i think we should leave legends like mj and magic r.i.p but bring back other random players such as rodman, drexler, bias etc

Go with my plan though... because Stone Cold said so.Referencing anal sex and double dildos for more than 1 script line is excessive. Luckily, you were about 3 characters off from the dreaded excessive anal pounding talk. Good eye Robby. Then again, you lose points when you refer to yourself as Stone Cold. In all honesty, I too love the history in leagues, knowing that 2001 wasn't the beginning of Dikembe Mutombo's career etc. Substance in leagues is something hard to come by, and it seems this has been one of the longest running SSBL's to date, so let's keep it that way gent's Because the Undertaker said so...

I wouldn't say Infinity is much more active than here. Sure for one reason or another it was a bit of a down year here, maybe a couple of folks need to pick up their activity a bit but nothing to worry about imo.
