Past, Present, and Future
Atlantic Division
Boston Celtics (35-14)
The Past.........
The 3-timeSSBL4 Champs have certainly been the best franchise since Runngunn took over. The team has made some bold moves that have definitely paid off, but drafting LeBron James certainly helped their cause back in 2003.
The Present.........
The Champs are at it again. They are the team to beat, without question. Still competing for another title, which would make that a three-peat: something that has never happened before in SSBL history!
The Future.........
Aside from LeBron, team is definitely aging. So are we to see some changes soon?
Miami Heat (15-30)
The Past.........
Former GM Shawncro won the 1999 Title, but the team was MIA in the finals ever since (no pun intended).
The Present.........
Luca's rebuild. Ever since he took over, it's safe to say he's done a good job assembling a team of youth with good upside who can already contribute. However, a disappointing 2010 season so far has Luca looking more toward the Future instead of the present.
The Future.........
Cenk, Blatche, and Rondo appear to be the core guys whose talents are already in South Beach, but who will be taking theirs in years to come?
New Jersey Nets (14-29)
The Past.........
Hot-and-Cold records during the Verysilentone campaigns. Definitely a nice guy, but the type of GM who wanted to sit on his team and just hope they would magically start playing, though they historically were good one year, bad the next, etc.
The Present.........
Cashmoney Nickmoney's rebuild. They have been a lotto team for a few seasons now, but the pieces are finally starting to form together....
The Future.........
The Thabo/Turner show? I have a feeling it will at least be the Turner show for a while....but you know Nick, he doesn't fall in love with anybody. He moves on like a whore and does whatever it takes to make a team good.
New York Knicks (23-26)
The Past.........
Former Co-commish Slash had some disappointing seasons. M00sey transformed the team into an exciting one, yet they've only been to the playoffs once since the league started up...
The Present.........
Amar'e was exciting for a while, but it's time to move on. Oh but hey, Steph Curry is solid now, and Horford aint bad either....could the team make some noise this year as a sleeper pick?
The Future.........
Steph Curry's team? or....
Orlando Magic (29-23)
The Past.........
Penny gone, the Overachievers (Craw, JO, Dickau) are out, and the team has been rebuilding till now.
The Present.........
Ariza, Azubuike blow up, and have turned heads around the league as two of the best shooters currently in the league. Can these two lead the team to playoffs once again?
The Future.........
Ariza is the real deal. Westbrook still learning, but handed keys to the offense. The two are 25 or younger, so the future is in good shape if things don't work out now (I hope).
Philadelphia 76ers( 32-20)
The Past.........
Karl Malone retires at the age of 73. Robby finally changes his sig after Iverson left the team 7 years prior. But the yells "Help! I'm in Contract Year!"
The Present.........
Robby, under his breath mutters: "Damn, I still have Dwight? At least I have D-Rose!" daily.
The Future.........
Robby knows in the back of his head that whether or not things work out soon, that D-Rose fella is prrrrretttttyyy gooooddddd....
Washington Wizards (24-24)
The Past.........
The days of Gary Payton are over....and Deron falling into the Wiz's laps was a blessing.
The Present.........
Deron, Qrich, and Meka want to make a statement, but can't seem to get over that hump!
The Future.........
If things don't work out, at least Deron is around. But I sincerely think this team is one piece away, whether it is a PF or a SG that needs to be added to the mix!
