Making this short and sweet, Afro is a terrific GM and I know that rules are rules, but this isn't some dickhead GM whos not active or not trying. Afros been with us for years and his team is just absolutely shitting the bed. I think karma is hitting Afro for all the free agents hes stolen, like when he ripped my heart out in Infinity and sent me into misery for a few months. Or all the times he moved up in the draft.
But in all honesty, I think we should change this contract year a bit. I think when the year starts, the commish or a committee should vote if that GM deserves to be in a contract year. For example, if you're slightly inactive, not posting trade blocks, not posting depth charts, then you're on the contract year.
Or maybe make the contract year that you lose a first round pick or something else. I dunno, just think it's fucked up(although rules are rules)and just sucks a great GM will lose his team.

And I don't want to brag...but this league was very close to losing myself, Manske, and now Afro...thats three core GMs that go back with a couple of fellow GM'ers a good 5-7 years in REAL LIFE

I know that Ray, but let me use me personally. If I was CY'd, I'd prob quit. I wouldn't want to take over someone elses job. Id want to continue working on the team that I started with, that's just my opinion. Not sure how others feel about losing their team and then taking over another. I just know it probably kills Afro knowing he will have to lose his team hes been working with for almost a year in real life time.

thanks for the support Robby, it does suck but I gotta take responsibility for putting together this crap of team for the last 4-5 seasons...This can happen to any GM really. I had a sick team for awhile there, went with a 2-3 year rebuild and when i thought the team was ready to win a lil it just didnt happen...oh well watcha gonna do

I like Afro too, but rules are rules guys. It would set a bad precedent if we let this guy slide, let that guy slide....
You'd be 1st on the waiting list anyway, dude. We'll see what happens.

If I'm not mistaken, Afro has won a ship in every installment of SSBL that I've been in. (NVM, not in 3) but he has won two here. Although rules are rules, Afro is a real good GM.

FWIW I never actually though Afro would be let go. Considering how active people are in this league and the percentages of DC's posted it never crossed my mind that he would actually be let go.
I mean what if we enforced the three strike DC policy? Half of this league would be fucked.

I've personally never liked the contract year system. If someone's not cutting it, let them go, make an executive decision. Far too many variables involved that could lead to 4-5 seasons of mediocrity. Also, when a guy knows he's gonna get shitcanned without production, a lot of the time you're gonna see them do moves that are gonna fuck the franchise even more than it already was. Not everyone has the decency to try and keep the franchise's future at least a tad bright. I don't really have a problem or anything with the system, I'm just not a fan.

either way there's pros and cons for both having it and not having it...you're gonna have those people that like it and some that don't.

Eh, you make the exception once, you better expect to make it more.
Its the way things go.
Sucks, but thats the system we function under.
