I've been wanting to do this forever...you are gladly welcome here in Philadelphia(if allowed). I always thought this would be kind of cool, it also forms a waiting list of somewhat. Maybe reward the most active/best assistant GM with the next GM opening.

I think before you allow it to take place Ray, you should really set up some ground rules. Needs to be a pecking order on how shit is managed.

I don't like this either run your team or don't have a team

just a few idears assistant GM duties: - claiming cash/points - writing articles (cash/points go to head GM's account) - staying active/contributing to the board - doing whatever is asked by the head GM

we would be allowed to talk trades with other gm's and if u came to an agreement you go to the gm and ask him what he thinks about it...

well assistant GMs could work but they'd have to have the same style/taste in players which would be hard to find. Ultimately I think it's more trouble than it's worth. I mean if you spend PMs talking trades with someone or on AIM, find something you agree on but the GM doesn't like it then it's quite a waste of everyone's time.
Unless the GM layed out the specific's of what he was looking for and willing to give

You just have to have good communication with whoever the real gm is....they can tell u whose avail for trade and whose untouchable then what kinda players they're lookin for....just a thot if not I'll wait my turn no biggie...just wanted to do somethin in the mean time

I think before you allow it to take place Ray, you should really set up some ground rules. Needs to be a pecking order on how shit is managed. i'd probably allow it just like i've seen in other leagues....the Ass can post trade blocks, make offers, talk on behalf of the GM, but the orig. GM has to be the one to approve trades.

My only concern would be if I reach a deal with the assistant GM and the original GM doesn't like it, that would piss me off. Other than that I couldn't care less. Maybe this way some people will get DC's in now.

Luca, wanna be my assistant? Quick, go get me a Fresca, bitch. haha, what I meant by "do whatever the head GM asks" is if he wants you to post the DC, or sign some free agents, etc., then you do that. Otherwise, the assistant should probably stay out of those affairs. I think it can get convoluted, but sometimes having assistants is a good way to get a waiting list you can kind of rely on.

honestly, really have no problem with Asses as long as they dont fuck anything up. so if they cant make trades, or sign/cut guys, all they can really do is engage trade talks and write articles, ...which equals activity, and activity is always good

hahaha nice manske!
As far as ass. gm's that is the hulksters call my concerns
SOme gms who are skating as is will skate more meaning less meaningful activity Ass. GMs will get abused or tired and leave, making the waiting list even thinner Active Gms will stop talking trade with the two headed monsters because of disagreements etc.
Now that said if people want to give it a shot go for it, personally I would never want somebody else "helping" with my team but maybe it works for people, I think anybody with an ass. gm should have to pay a ass. gm salary to that gm and it gets added to their new team's balance when they get a full gig.

personally I would never want somebody else "helping" with my team. I always found ass. gm's to be more bothersome than helpful, so I'd have to agree. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind "helping" someone for the time being.

Shit, I've been busy with work and love making the past few weeks. So if someone wants to claim all my cash and look for some deals (that I would definitely approve because I do like my team) then sure you could be my Ass GM.

Its not really that bad of an idea. The assistant GM's could, like in real life, become head GM's of thier own team if they show they have the skills to do so. That way we know they wont bring down a franchise like the ClippersGM did.
