The Golden State Warriors have completed the season in SSBL4. Amidst the disappointment of finishing out of the playoffs and in the lottery picture , the Warriors have a lot to decide upon . With about 16 mil coming off the books , the Warriors could use this extra cash to sign a few veterans to help boost the team's playoff chances in season 2 . What can fans expect from the Warriors for the upcoming season ?
First off , the Warriors need a point guard , this can be achieved through drafting one where the candidates start off good with point guards Steve Francis , Baron Davis and Andre Miller on the horizon . (all but Miller are currently wild card entrants ) . This point guard depending on which is drafted , would be mostly used as a distributor of the rock to Antawn Jamison and others , or could be a viable 2nd or 3rd scoring option. If not drafted , expect the Warriors to bring on a veteran point guard with more skills than the current crop they have .
The Warriors could also draft a shooting guard . Manu Ginobili is a viable option here as he can score and also distributes the ball to many an open team mate inside for an easy chip shot into the rim . If the Warriors decide to go big , expect a power forward or center to be drafted . The need here is for a power forward as Donyell Marshall will be exiting after the season . If the wildcard entrants of Elton Brand or Lamar Odom enter the draft , expect the Warriors to snatch one of these players up . Rumor has it that Odom is high on their list of draft picks but nothing has been confirmed . The centers in this years draft are a decent bunch but none of them seem to have piqued the Warriors interest .
Whoever comes on board to the Warriors will be in for a complete focus on winning next season . For now , however , we will have to wait until the draft and the offseason starts to see if the Warriors can get back a profit for their investment .
