Number 8: Danilo Gallinari, Indiana Pacers
The Pacer team is loaded with young talent that is ready to start making some noise in the Eastern Conference. The just acquired Steve Nash so you know that they finally expect to compete. In adding Gallo they get a draft prospect that is ready to contribute from day one. Gallo can do it all, get tot he line and shoot it from deep. His shot is SSBL ready and this is a huge plus. His defense needs some work so that Pacers should focus on that for him. Either way getting Gallo a top five candidate at eight is a hell of a pick.
Number 10: Serge Ibaka, Seattle Supersonics
Drafting foreign players is becoming the the new frenzy of SSBL. There have been a ton of players that have stayed overseas and made a lot of noise once coming over. AK-47 got it started many years ago and the trend has done nothing but grow. Now a days those late picks become gold bars for GM's. For the Sonics they're rebuilding the entire team so adding someone like Ibaka who can grow overseas is huge. Ibaka is still a little raw but his shot blocking prowess is among the elite already. Fast forward one year and this guy is probably pushing a top five pick.
Number 18: JJ Hickson, Washington Wizards
The Wizards traded away Derrick Rose and in return they received a team. However not stopping there the Wizards continued to add young talent to the roster. JJ Hickson comes to the draft at only twenty years old but can score down low in a vary of ways. His back to the basket game is among the best in the draft, his 10-15 foot jumper is already smooth. Being able to develop Hickson will be huge because they now have Okafor and Millsap manning the post. Hickson will turn himself into a solid contributor for this team, great value for the number 18th pick.
Pick 20: DeAndre Jordan, Philly 76ers
DeAndre Jordan might not be the smartest tool in the shed, but you got to love his determination. After signing with the Aggies, the coach left but he stayed. What makes this perplexing is that the new coach didn't care for big men, but preferred guards. Therefore Jordan didn't play that much during the season, but he wanted to go to the SSBL. Falling to twenty Jordan is the high risk high reward player that GM's love. Jordan's game is extremely raw, but his shotblocking and knack on the boards makes him worth the risk. The 76ers will probably send him to the D-League to polish his skills.
Pick 25: Goran Dragic, San Antonio Spurs
It seems that in every draft the Spurs will come away with a point guard and this years one was Dragic. He brings an all around game that make him very intriguing. He can do everything that a guard is supposed to do, he can get to the rim easily. His outside shot is already there and he can handle the ball. His defense needs a lot of work, but there is no reason why he can't be a nice combo/change of pace guard off the bench. Who knows what the Spurs will do with him, but at the end of the first round they got a nice steal.
Round Two, Pick 13: Luc Richard Mbah A Moute New York Knicks
Every team needs that dirty guy and the Knicks got one in LRMAM. For some reason he slid in the draft as teams looked for more potential filled guys, a lot of people view LRMAM as a finished product. LRMAM brings intensity every time he steps onto the floor and plays lock down defense. For a team like the Knicks to land him makes it a good pick because he brings a winning culture to the team, something that has been missing.
