Not sure what I would have to help people out in trades but figure I would make a deadline block with the hope of maybe doing something to help the this team out since it looks like it is back to the lottery, minus pick. Anyways, here is what I have available:
Julius Lamptey - C D- F+ B- B- C[/b]
Guy has a cheap contract (4 years/$8 million) that is $1.8 this year and expires at $2.4 million. He is only 21 years of age and I originally signed him as a project player. However, I seem to have a decent number of projects at the moment so he can go if anyone is looking for a backup center. Mostly would like an expiring contract and some cash, maybe a future second round pick instead of cash, who knows.
Aaron Williams - C+ C- F+ B+ B- D[/b]
Guy is 36 years old and has a two-year minimum contract of $1 million this year and next. Not really looking for much, probably an expiring deal and some cash. Or he could be an add into a trade for salary purposes if he is needed. With some other guys on my team I don't really have the need to play Williams so just throwing him out there.
Charlie Villanueva - C+ B D B B- B[/b]
I've played him at both small forward and a little at power forward this year (I believe his defense stays the same if moved). He really isn't an upgrade overall to playing Olowokandi there and Cook is starting at small forward so he has turned into a supersub in a sense. Still just 23 years old and wrapped up on a reasonable contract. I'm not really sure what I would like to do with him but will look at various options since I have a variety of forwards and there is only so much playing time to be had.
James Posey - C+ B+ D+ B+ C+ C[/b]
He is my LLE signing so the cost would have to be paid to move him in a deal. I struggled between him and Villanueva all year but that is no longer an issue after calling up Cook from the D-League so he is now a backup and might be a solid backup for someone else for the stretch run based on his ability to shoot from outside and play tough defense.
Kirk Hinrich - C B+ B- A- D+ C[/b]
I signed him this offseason but also landed Spanoulis at the same time so between that and Marcus Williams developing Hinrich is similar to Villanueva in that he comes off the bench and plays either guard position. However with some of the other players on my team Hinrich can go in a deal for a team looking for a guard that can play either position with a reasonable long-term contract.
Ideally what I would like to do would be to package some of these players up with some draft picks to make a significant improvement at the power forward position since I have to make the playoffs next year and I think that is my weak area. As I said, it has to be a significant upgrade there and if I don't get that I'll look at other possibilities in moving these guys for other parts. Worst case scenario I suppose is that I roll into next year with this group, hope for a good TC, and pray to make the playoffs.
