Even though I am neither a LeBron, or a Cavs fan, I think what LeBron did by leaving Cleveland for South Beach was treacherous, and dishonorable. Now there will always be that asterisk by any championship LeBron helps Miami win, because he just couldn't get it done on his own in Cleveland. Which brings me to another point. LeBron will never reach the heights that Michael Jordan soared to in his career. It's a done deal.
LeFraud has cemented his place in history as a little bitch.

yeah wtf, why would lebron want to go there? to go win? so dumb Sure, he's going to help the Heat win. But he made the easy decision to play with two All-Stars in Miami as opposed to the dignified decision of staying in Cleveland and finishing the job. He will always look like a quitter to me, and countless other people now, because he tucked his tail and ran when he should have manned-up, and accepted the responsibility that comes with being a great player. Now, he'll just be another dude who couldn't get it done on his own, and he will never go down as one of the all time greats to play the game because of this. It really doesn't matter now if the Heat win a ship, or two... or three. LeBron will always be reviled for what he has done. I liken this move to that of a dead-beat dad leaving his family because the going got tough. However, it does kind of make me mad that this is such a big deal when the economy, and the housing market are in such shambles. Who really cares about another selfish, overpaid piece of trash when people are starving in the streets. Bah!

He was a free agent, meaning he could go wherever he wanted to go, be it Miami, New York, Chicago or wherever. To me he went where he felt he had the best chance of winning a title, who can fault the guy for that? It just so happens that place is also Miami. Ask yourself this, would you rather spend 5 years in South Beach with a legitimate shot at a title, or spend another 6 years home after the previous 6 years yielded nothing and the team has shown no signs of wanting to improve? The guy wanted to move on, who could blame him? I don't agree with holding a TV special to announce your decision, but I can't fault him for making the decision he made.
I am a little disturbed by the fact that Dan Gilbert seems content to make LeBron the scapegoat for future seasons, rather than focusing on moving on and bettering their team. Sure he says they will win before LeBron does, and the fans will probably buy that now because of the timing of the situation, but when they step back and look at the reality of the situation, they will see the team and realize the man was just using the situation so he has an excuse when the team doesn't win anything.

The big thing for me was the contrived 1 hour special. I do think Bron should've stayed in Cleveland. In an ideal world, he'd take a pay cut and entice a nice 2nd piece to play with him. At the very least, Lebron should have had the decency to let the Cavs know that they're out. Don't leave them hanging on national TV.

he wasn't going to win anything in Cleveland anyway. Ferry did a ok-at-best job of surrounding him with the right players...
Larry Hughes was hardly a Pippen to LBJ's Jordan...
Mo Wililams...there's a start
Shaq? washed up and clogs the paint, where LeBron often goes to in order to score.
If they were smart they would have seen that LeBron is an ISO AT THE TOP OF THE KEY TYPE PLAYER early on, and woulda tried to get a good PICK AND ROLL BIG GUY WHO ACTUALLY ATTACKS THE BASKET (like Amar'e)...
they had the right idea with surrounding him with shooters, but that still was not enough
put yourself in LeBron' shoes...
"that was a good rookie year"
"there's always next year"
"there's always next year"
"there's always next year"...wtf
"there's always next year"...yo wtf
"there's always next year"...yo wtf really
"there's always next year"...yo wtf really ugh

I really don't care how anybody puts it - LeBron still should have stayed in Cleveland. If he had any shred of decency inside that vapid soul of his, then he would have at least let the Cavs know what was up. Still, I do not agree with how Gilbert handled LeBron's leaving. Fans speaking their mind is one thing, but for the owner to lash out like that is just uncouth.

Like I said over at BLT.... I wonder who took the Bulls option? I still think the Bulls + LBJ is better then the Heat's current team. So to me, the "I wanted to win" bullshit is just that, bullshit. EDIT: Nice find on the thread Ray. I spent the last week listening to Robby have a panic attack (like myself) about the whole ordeal.

I believe that he should have gone to Chicago where they have a young team with an established point guard on the verge of becoming an elite player in Derrick Rose , then he would have had Carlos Boozer in the frontcourt with Noah and Deng . The Bulls , in my opinion had a better supporting cast than Miami , who still has to put another 9 guys on the team to give Lebron , Wade and Bosh a rest , unless they will be playing all minutes of every game (including playoffs ) ?
