The Lottery:
1. Vancouvers Grizzlies - Shawn Marion SF 21 6'7'' 215 B- C- C+ B B- A
Current: SF 29 6'7'' 215 B+ C C+ A- C+ D Hornets
Ever since being selected with the first pick overall, the career of Shawn Marion has been turbulent at best. He has career averages of 12 points, 7 boards and three assists a game. He is currently on his fourth team and yet again off to a shaky start. This draft class don't look so good, but Marion with the first pick looks like a mistake right now.
2. Minnesota Timberwolves - Andrei Kirilenko SF 6'9" 18 215 B- C C B C+ A
Current: Andrei Kirilenko SF 26 6'9'' 215 B+ B+ C A+ B- D Wolves
After staying overseas for two years, AK-47 came to the Wolves and made an immediate impact. In his rookie year he averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists and was equipped with lock down defense. AK-47 has enjoyed his entire career in Minnesota and paired up with with Kevin Garnett has enjoyed some of the better seasons in SSBL history. However the elusive championship has escaped him. AK-47 is clearly the best pick in this draft.
3. Washington Wizards - Baron Davis PG 20 6'2'' 190 B- C+ C+ B- C A
Current: Baron Davis SG 29 6'2'' 190 B B- C C+ C B Nets
Since being the third overall pick, Davis has enjoyed a subpar career. His career started off decent, 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists a game and looked like he was on his way to a solid career. However he became lax and his career started to tail off. Eventually he joined the Nets and tried to restructure his career as a shooting guard and has been a decent player off the bench. However the potential he came into with, he has been a bust.
4. Dallas Mavericks - Steve Francis PG 22 6'3'' 200 B C+ B- C+ C- A
Current: Steve Francis PG 30 6'3'' 200 B+ B B+ B C C Hawks
Steve Francis has enjoyed a good career, much better than Baron Davis. Francis is now on his fifth team, but every time he was traded it was always because he was a good player, not a throw in. Francis career has been good since the start, winning the rookie of the year award. His career averages of 20 points, 8 assists a game and 5 boards a game puts him in a nice category of 20/8 point guards. Most expect Francis talents to decline as the time rolled on, but that hasn't been the case at all.
5. Golden State Warriors* - Emanuel GinĂ³bili SG 22 6'6" 210 B- B- C C+ C- A
Current: Emanuel Ginobili SG 29 6'6'' 210 C+ B C+ B C- C Clippers
If it wasn't for Baron Davis, Mani Ginobili would easily win bust of the draft. Ever since being drafted Manu has sucked for the most part, contrary to his stats. In his first few years he was force feed the ball to produce and while posting decent stats he never should have been playing. He was on the all rookie team with a 14/4/3 averages in his first year. He followed that rookie year with slight upgrades in numbers but his ratings have never been impressive at all. On his fourth team thus far, the Clippers are trying to turn him into a valuable asset.
6. New Jersey Nets* - Ron Artest SF 6'6'' 20 235 B- C+ C B+ C A
Current: Ron Artest SG 28 6'7'' 235 B- C+ C B+ C C Nets
Ron Artest like AK-47 has enjoyed his entire career with the same team that drafted him. Artest has enjoyed a nice career though it does seem like he is slipping a bit, maybe because of his position. His career averages reads as follows 18/7/3 and has enjoyed a nice career. However his loyalty might actually be the downfall of his career as the Nets haven't been the most active team in the league, they never really went for it. Artest will still have a future in this league due to his name, some team will love him off the bench after his contract is up.
7. Los Angeles Clippers* - Andre Miller PG 23 6'2'' 205 B- C B+ B- C B
Current: Andre Miller PG 31 6'2'' 205 B C B+ B+ C D Rockets
Andre Miller has enjoyed a solid career since being selected with lucky number seven. His season highs have all been in different years. Currently on his fifth team Andre Miller is leading the talented Houston Rockets. Andre Miller is able to claim a good career with averages of 14 points, 9 assists, 5 boards a game. You can easily say that he has outplayed the first pick and first point guard taken in this draft. Both he and Francis still have a lot of good years in them.
8. Seattle Supersonics - James Posey SF 22 6'7'' 215 C+ B C- B C+ B
Current: James Posey SF 30 6'7'' 220 C+ B+ D+ B+ C+ C Spurs
Drafted because of his outside shooting ability and his defense, Posey has had a career that has been sub par. His best season was his rookie year with the Sonics in which he posted 10/6/2. After that season Posey has seen an up and down career but also has two rings due to his time with the then powerhouse Grizzlies. He now finds himself in San Antonio on the almost rebuilt Spurs, seeing about seventeen minutes a game. Posey is posting 4/4 off the bench but he sleeps comfortable with his rings.
9. Charlotte Hornets - Michael Redd SG 20 6'6" 205 C B C C+ C- A
Current: Michael Redd SG 28 6'6'' 205 C+ B+ C+ A- C C Hawks
Michael Redd is another player that has seen the business side of SSBL, as he has been moved quite a lot of times. Redd when drafted saw a lot of bench time with his first few teams but finally got his chance with the Mavericks and he broke through with double digit points. They took a chance on resigning him and haven't really looked back. Even though he was moved, Redd continued to produce for various teams enjoying his best season with the Pacers 19/6/2. He is now teamed up with the fourth overall pick Steve Francis in Atlanta.
10. Toronto Raptors - Jason Terry SG 6'1" 170 22 C+ B+ C+ C D+ B
Current: Jason Terry PG 29 6'1'' 170 C+ B+ B B D+ C 76ers
Jason Terry is now playing for the eight team thus far in his career, a nice combo guard that has been targeted by many GM's around the league. However he has never had a better year than his rookie year in which he averaged 19 points, 7 dimes and 4 boards a game. Terry has been a decent contributor to any team off the bench as he can play either guard spot. He is actually on the same team with our next pick.
11. Cleveland Cavaliers - Wally Szczerbiak SF 22 6'7'' 244 C+ B+ C- C+ C B
Current: Wally Szczerbiak SF 30 6'7'' 244 C+ A- C- B- C+ C 76ers
Wally is a player that got off to a good start in his career in Cleveland averaging 16 points, 6 boards and 2 assists in his first four years with the team. However after that he bolted the Cavs and his career has been in the tank ever since, playing for the Pacers, Blazers, Wolves and now the 76ers. He was the 2000 three point shoot out champ, his stroke has never left his side but his lack of defense has made it hard for teams to play him.
12. Atlanta Hawks - Kenny Thomas PF 6'8'' 22 250 B- C+ C- B- B- B
Current:Found Jesus.
Little is known about what happened to Kenny Thomas, but I can't find him.
13. Utah Jazz (from Knicks) - Wang Zhizhi 22 7'0" 285 C+ C+ D C+ C+ A
Current: Wang Zhizhi C 30 7'0'' 285 B- C+ F B- B- C Warriors
When Wang was drafted by the Jazz, they game him the chance to prove that he can play in this league. He averaged 14/8 for the Jazz in the first two seasons, but after that he has more than 11 minutes up until this season. Wang is currently with the Warriors and is enjoying some solid play with 7/6 playing just twenty minutes. Wang was never supposed to be great, but somewhere in the middle he lost his way. Nice to see a revitalizing in the Bay going on.
14. Utah Jazz - Igor Rakocevic PG 21 6'3" 180 C+ C+ C+ C D+ A
Current: Overseas.
We don't know where he is, so we will just assume that he went overseas after a disappointing career.
1. Vancouvers Grizzlies - Shawn Marion SF 21 6'7'' 215 B- C- C+ B B- A
Current: SF 29 6'7'' 215 B+ C C+ A- C+ D Hornets
