Wow, why on earth would Deron want to go to the Nets?! He'll for sure be bolting from there in FA

Interesting to say the least. If you're a Knick or Net fan, you know this move is to be fired right at the Knicks..Prokos trying to build a rivalry.

since that earlier report of Deron stating he wanted to play with stoudemire in 2012
even if he does bail on the would-be BK Nets, would make the Sloan-pusher-outer seem even more like a bad guy and the Knicks like a Heat-esque bad guy-type team

That Butler thing was just a rumour.
Looks like its a done deal already, man that came out of no where, the Nets drive up the price on Melo and then steal the Knicks thunder by getting Deron. Will be interesting to see what other pieces they get because they are going to need to add some big pieces to keep Deron around.
Think its a great deal for NJ, although one of the picks involved is the Nets pick this year I think, thats a bit of a risk haven't got a whole lot outside of Deron to win games now.

the Nets 2011 sucks...the 2011 draft class is awful
the Warriors 2012 is top 7 protected....so #8 is the best that pick can be come
but it's still a big risk since DWill can leave after 2012. Now they just have to get him to buy into the notion that he will be the guy to build around as the move into Brooklyn
D-Will now moves ahead of Maria Sharapova (Vuajcic's fiance) as the Nets' best in-season acquisition this year

I'm not buying the 2011 draft is weak, especially that Nets pick.

who excites you this year in college basketball?

In college basketball... Sullinger, Jones, Walker, Jones, Thompkins, Hamilton and Williams. Injury/suspended: Irving, Kanter. Prospects: Knight, Barnes, Motie, Vesley
Then after that a lot of players I like mid range like the Morris Brothers, Thompson, Leonard.
I don't think this draft is star heavy, but rather a lot of good players.

I think Sullinger could become a dominant PF with a little work. And I love Irving and hope he stays a full year at Duke to team up with Austin Rivers

I think the morrisbros will be pretty decent throughout a 10 year career sample size. early on they'll probably be shit, then work their way into mediocrity.
Anyway, Jerry Sloan comeback FTW
