For a number of reasons (Xue being ready to start, future salary cap hell looming, the possibilty of starting THREE 7 footers) I plan on shopping Pierce around next season.
Now if I move Paul, I'd be looking for two things..
1: Salary cap relief. Doesn't necessarily have to be IMMEDIATE relief but that'd be preferred. But expiring would be fine.
2: A young piece. I could give two shits what position the player is at as I'm gonna be old all over the place. So whether it be a good young C/PF or swingman or PG, a young piece.
And obviously by young piece I want someone pretty darn nice. Pierce is a hell of a player and while his numbers are down this season, consider the amount of firepower this team has with Duncan, Dirk, Finley and Nash. He's still a 20+ a night threat and he's locked up for a couple more solid, PRODUCTIVE years.
