Shawn Marion SF 21 6'7'' 215 UNLV-Jr. B- C- C+ B B- A
Shawn Marion from UNLV gets off on the break and is a pretty good leaper. Awkward-looking release on his jumpshot, but hey, they go in sometimes. Not a threat from 3pt range really. He’s also well-rounded defensively: pesky on steals and even blocks a lot of shots. I can see him playing some PF, because he can guard bigs and even rebound.
Ron Artest SF 6'6'' 20 235 St. John's-Soph. B- C+ C B+ C A
Another great defender is Ron Artest from QUEENSBRIDGE in NYC (c'mon, say 'Queensbridge!'). He’s like a stocky SG/SF with good upper body strength and composure. He’ll get a bunch of steals leading to fast breaks. As an on-ball defender, he’s probably the best of the bunch. He’s also a well-rounded scorer too, which makes it interesting who would be drafted first of this group
Andrei Kirilenko SF 6'9" 18 215 Russia B- C C B C+ A
See notes for Andrei Kirilenko in the
Foreign Prospects thread.
Corey Maggette SF 20 6'6'' 215 Duke-Fr. B C+ C C+ C A
Corey Maggette, star Freshman for Duke, is a scoring threat who gets the rim at will. He’s super athletic, drives to the rim, put his head down, and scores with ease. However he gets too cocky and selfish at times and forgets that there are 4 other teammates on the floor. This may mess up team chemistry a bit, but if Maggette matures, it should be no problem.
Jonathan Bender SF 18 6'11" 200 Picayune Memorial HS B- C D+ C+ C+ A
Youngster is a beast in his HS, but is incredibly raw. 6'11" 200, that's like KG, except he's no KG...well at least not yet. Played mostly PF and C in HS, but also shot from mid-range and outside at times. Really lanky and likes to chuck up shots. In HS he was a man among boys, so it'll be interesting to see how he progresses (or regresses?) in SSBL.
Jumaine Jones SF 6'7'' 20 210 Georgia-Soph C+ B- C- C+ C B
Jumaine Jones has got a nice looking corner three that will be beneficial to a team that has a drive-and-kick type player. Jones will help spread the floor for sure. He has been working on his defense as of late so that can be a good sign for a team looking for a shooter late in the 1st round / early 2nd rd.

Wally Szczerbiak SF 22 6'7'' 244 Miami (OH) C+ B+ C- C+ C B
In case you've been living under a rock, Wally is a a white guy who can light up from the outside. Silky shooter who can stretch the defense with his stroke. Not the best defender but has potential to improve in that area. Good size and strength for a wing player. Can easily light it up for 20 a night from the get-go.
Eddie Robinson SF 23 6'8" 210 Central Oklahoma Sr B- C+ C- B- C B
Central Oklahoma star Eddie Robinson sure is athletic but lazy at times. His jumper used to be atrocious but has been worked on. He can finish in the lane, and has long arms to be a good defender, but if the potential isn’t there, he could wind up busting.
James Posey SF 22 6'7'' 215 Xavier Sr C+ B C- B C+ B
Hard-nosed, in your face defensive wing who can also knockdown open 3s. Good size and stregnth to guard SGs, SFs, and even some PFs. Also has a decent post game for a SF.
Devean George SF 22 6'8'' 225 Ausberg Sr B- C+ D+ B- C+ B
Devean George is a solid SF with knockdown ability and his defense is decent. He's pretty athletic but not very quick at all. Solid size for a SG/SF type.
Adrian Griffin SF 25 6'5" 217 Seton Hall C C C- B C- B
Another defensive specialist, although the older Griffin lacks the offensive skills that the Wildcard SF's posess.
Lee Nailon 24 SF 6'9'' 235 TCU Sr B C C- C+ C B
Lee Nailon from TCU has got a good inside game. More of an undersized PF I’d say. Not a great defender or rebounder though, and not very quick for a SF, but solid still.
Quincy Lewis SF 22 6'7'' 213 Minnesota-Sr. C+ B C- C C C
Quincy Lewis was a big-time scorer in Minnesota last year, primarily a threat from 3pt range. Not a great defender though, over-commits on steals at times.
Heshimu Evans SF 22 6'6'' 220 Kentucky Sr C+ C C+ B C+ C
Heshimu Evans is a warrior; big-time energy guy off the bench from Kentucky who provides defense and rebounds.
Rico Hill SF 6'6'' 22 235 Illinois State Sr C B- D C C+ C
Rico Hill played a year overseas after 3 season at Illinois St. He was more of an inside guy but recently developed a nice 17-20 ft jumper. He’s not very quick as he played PF a lot in recent years, but if he wants to make it in the pros as a SF he’ll need to make that jumper consistent and work on perimeter defense as well.
Tim James SF 23 6'7'' 220 Miami (FL)-Sr. C C C- B- C+ C
Tim James played well in college and has been a consistent scorer and rebounder, but I don’t know if it will translate to a monsterous SSBL career IMO. He’ll be used for defense primarily, given his long arms and size.
