Yea Yea, Pac-Man back in T.O.
I don't care if I overpaid him guys - he's my future PG, and a necessary part if I want to make a run to the Championship.
Ray, were there any other bids for him?

Definitely happy with the first and second days, picked up two sg's which I badly needed. Picked Haslem back up, and got Williams for a 2nd/3rd string pg depending on Terry. Don't think I overpaid to much for anyone, and they were all short deals.

Well, Dujan Wagner is gone, but paying 10 million a year for him was something I was just not prepared to do for a guy really without a position.
Will have to pick up a PG, but should be ok.

I so hope Shaq plays out that entire contract, just to say "screw you for messing with the system". Welcome back Rodney White. You may actually get some minutes on this horrid ass bench.

It's like my Kenyon Martin, you just don't want to dump 5000 bucks to dump two years. It hurts a damn lot

It's like my Kenyon Martin, you just don't want to dump 5000 bucks to dump two years. It hurts a damn lot it will but not as much as letting a player of Walker caliburs walk for free. I can probably gain the money, I dont have any youngsters to camp so I dont need the money

Yeah I have no problem with the resigning, but overpaying by that much? Oh well sometimes you got to do what you gotta do.

Yeah I have no problem with the resigning, but overpaying by that much? Oh well sometimes you got to do what you gotta do. well I had no choice. I'm going in blind folded how am I suppose to know nobdy would offer a big deal for a 25ppg first option. Walker is no sucka, he can score. And I need another scorer on this team.

yessir got shaq back on 7% increases, didn't want to take any risks and have him jump ship like he does so often in real life. i mean he's going to be dominant until at least 2008 IMO.. its not like there's that many good centers in the league.
umm besides that, i HIGHLY question whether morlende is really worth the max upon looking at his ratings. his best year he put up 14 and 7 on a lotto team.
toines contract is atrocious like yall said he would of been locked in for 3 years but 5 at that price is wild. i thought hawks were rebuilding?
i think signing wags was a great move by the Jazz. you got to take the best player available and wags can hold his own..especially with a camp or 2 in him.

how bout the Bulls stealing Camby away from Nets? best FA signing so far?
actually nah, Wagner probably is still the best signing...23 and decent ratings...and the Jazz needed a guard

Yeah Wagner signing was great...And Hawks, why trade all your players for younger ones and picks just to resign Walker at that price?

Yeah Wagner signing was great...And Hawks, why trade all your players for younger ones and picks just to resign Walker at that price? Exactly who did I trade for younger players? Beside Francis all my trades have been to take out long term contract deals and get up grades in the mean time. If you are refering to the Dampier deal, I didnt make that deal, JCarter did and I dont blame him, I would have gotten more on top of the picks. At the beginning I did want to rebuild but when the Mavs deal didnt go through and he backed out and then focused on winning this year. What if it took me longer to compete than I thought, Mavs would have a lottery pick in 08. Butler IMO is better than Pietrus, Francis right now is better and younger than Nash. I add Walker to this team and I have something here. Fortson + Miller should be a good/solid frontcourt and I can add depth too. If there was a misconception of me rebuiliding fine its cool but how is the Walker deal a bad on but the Stackhouse deal isnt? Just kinda wondering

Stackhouse is overpaid but I couldn't afford to lose him and I'll cut a year off or move him
but just for comparison Jerry Stackhouse SG 31 6'6'' 218 B+ A- C- A- C- D (defense goes to A at SF) Antoine Walker SF 30 6'9'' 245 B B- C B+ B D
So Walker is a better rebounder and a little better handling the ball, but I think everybody just assumes one mediocre TC and Walker goes from 20+ppg to 15 or so very easily and that kills his value completely
Now Stack is really overpaid, but he should hold up for 3-4 more really good seasons on a team
just my two cents

Stackhouse might be a better shooter but for his career only shot 10% better than Walker from outside. As for the training camp thats kinda useless. Stack is 1 year older than Walker and it can go visa versa. Both averaged 25+ PPG last year and if one of them gets a bad TC were both fucked. And like you said you had to do this, and with Mavs having my pick for next year I cant afford to rebuild.
