Kaman the answer?
By Coleworld
Rumors around the NBA is that the Mavericks have recently acquired big man Chris Kaman from the Vancouver Grizzlies. He was a back up for the Grizzlies thanks to the emergence of rising star Sofoklis Schortsanitis and was clearly that Kaman didn't have a future there anymore. But he wasn't the only player being involved in this trade they also sent SF/SG James Posey and Keith McLeod. Kaman was a very happy man when he heard the news that he got traded. He had the following to say about being dealt:
I'm very proud, that I finally have a chance to show my skills to the NBA World. I, had a good time playing for the Raptors but then after I got traded to the Grizzlies I thought I was the franchise center but I guess not just a benchwarmer. But now in Dallas I'll show them they did a big mistake trading me away. I'm also very happy having a chance to play with Shaun Livingston. Me and him go way back and we should right away click in this offense.
How big of a impact will Kaman do to Szymon Szewczky
Kaman has made a direct impact already with the Mavericks thus far in his stint as a Maverick. He has been posting 18.5 PPG and 10.1 REB in his 7 games as a Mavericks so far. He isn't the only happy player in Dallas polish big man Szymon Szewczyk is happy as well and he had his comment on this recent trade:
I'm pleased to have another big man on the court while I'm playing takes a lot more stress of my back and makes my life a little more easier. I've been the main scoring option on this team and rebounding man. But now with Kaman it should take some pressure off of me and don't have to be the go to guy that much. Hopefully me and him can mesh right away. But I like what I see in him.
The other players can't be overshadowed either. James Posey is a great defensive swingman and is right now the teams starting 2 guard. He is known for his great defense and good thee point ability and he will bring that to the table now. He is also one of the best rebounding 2 guards now his 6'7 frame should help a lot. He was injured the first couple games as a Maverick but finally made his Mavericks debut on day 58 and posted 10/5 numbers. The other player that was acquired in this trade Keith McLeod. He is a combo guard and was the starting SG for the Mavericks while Posey was injured. He is a very good ball handler and can make his own shot. Both these players are expiring and the Mavs GM is hopeful he can resign both these guys come to the off season.
The player that was traded was combo guard Kirk Hinrich who was quickly being unhappy after losing his starting spot to Jamario Moon. He put up a fit in the lockeroom when he heard the news he got demoted:
Best seat in the house for Kirk
Why the fuck am I a back up player! I'm the best overall shooting guard this team has and yet they decide to play this bum name Moon over my ass! MOON! Yes Moon the guy that can't shoot to save his fucking life. I want OUT! This is just a slap to my face. I worked my ass off everyday and just to get this news. *Walks away*
Very unhappy player and looked like he didn't have a future anymore with the Mavericks. The Grizzlies has a nice player in him. A guy who can play both guard position very well. But looked like his time in Dallas was done after his demotion to back up guard. Well, this is the latest news for the Mavericks we will keep you updated with news we hear.
