The Golden State Warriors are looking forward to playing in the SSBlv4 in the Western Conference and its most dominant division the Pacific . When looking at the Warriors roster , many see a decent group of players who could lead this team to a playoff finish . The players mentioned are mostly in the front court where the Warriors have a great mix with the likes of youngsters Erick Dampier , Adonal Foyle , Donyell Marshall and Antawn Jamison . Follow that up with the veteran supporting cast of Felton Spencer (who may be traded during the season ) , Terry Cummings , Jason Caffey and Chris Mills , the Warriors should be a formidable team this year if all players contribute and play up to their potential . Jamison and Marshall will be the players relied on to lead the Warriors in scoring , while Dampier and Foyle will provide the rebounding and the defense in the paint . Cummings and Mills should provide some scoring off the bench and Caffey is a scrappy player who can do a little of everything . The front court by far will be the Warriors most potentially deadly weapon when facing other teams as most of the players are young and ready to proove themselves . The backcourt is the possible weak spot right now with veteran John Starks , who has fallen off from his years with the New York Knicks and their championship chases in previous years , and Muggsy Bogues , who is a capable point guard but lacking the speed he once had . Backed up by Tony Delk , once a standout guard at Kentucky , and Bimbo Coles , the starting backcourt will have to provide both minutes and considerable scoring for the Warriors . "The backcourt (starting) is up in age but we will have to live with it this season , unless we can somehow make a trade or draft a player from these positions as we look to revive the positions we consider to be upgraded , " said GM Mikedacroat . Many fans and scouts feel that the Warriors will need to address their backcourt issues if they will want to compete for a playoff berth in SSBLv4.
