Getting this started early on. Is John Wall for real or all hype?

He's half hype, half for real. He has his work cut out for him, that's for sure. I'd hate to have those kind of expectations placed on my head from day 1. For the most part that doesn't bode well for young guys in the pros, but there is always the exception. Hopefully, Wall can be one of those exceptions.
Sleeper? I'm gonna go with Ekpe Udoh. And I'll say it first: Udoh will be the second best player out of this draft when all is said and done. He may even become the best depending on how Wall does.

I agree with the Udoh sleeper comment

I think it's a little crazy to say he'll be the 2nd best player when all is said and done but I do agree that Ekpe could become a solid rotation player in the NBA.

His passing skills, and IQ are something that only come around once in a great while for a bigman like him. I have a feeling he'll go to the Warriors, where he'll fit in just fine.

I actually was just reading the rumor about the Warriors wanting him at 6, hehe.
nbadraft.net has him there now too. Hopefully Nellie won't fuck him up too much before he gets the axe after the season.

Exactly. If I were a Warriors fan, I would hope for Nellie to be gone by December (which is a big month for coach firings.)
The other guy I think will turn out good is Al-Farouq Aminu. Although, he has just as good a chance to be a bust as he does at being an All-Star/fringe All-Star, he is the total package.

Cohan is in the process of selling the franchise so I doubt Nellie goes until that happens, who knows how long thats gonna drag on.
Atleast with Maggette dumped there will be no more Maggs at PF, hopefully giving Randolph and Wright more playing time if they can stay fit.
Al-Farouq I think will be a bust, Evan Turner will be the best player from this class in my opinion.

Just what the Wizards need... another PG that plays SG. Doesn't make much sense to me aside from the Wiz getting another draft pick. They'd better take a big with that pick if that deal does go down. Hopefully, they don't have to give up too much, cos the Bulls are looking to free up cap, so that's pretty much what Chicago will get in return. Personally, I don't like this for the Wizards, but I do like it for the Kings. Too bad they just got rid of Nocioni, cos a Hinrich/Nocioni reunion would be sweet.
As for Evan Turner, I really do not see big things out of him professionally.

Shocked Udoh went so early. that should be your wake-up call to do your own evaluations, and not to listen to the so-called "experts."

Luca, what's your take on Pritchard? Pritchard is amazing. I believe I can speak on behalf of all Blazers fans when I say that he is loved for what he has done for this team. However, his days in Portland are probably over, if not this year, then after the season. Why? Because, he isn't afraid to stand up to Paul "Vulcan" Allen, and tell it like he sees it. All I know, is that Paul Allen will vilify himself in the city of Portland, and the state of Oregon if he fires the man who transformed the Jailblazers seemingly overnight. But maybe that's what Allen wants. After all, his hometown is Seattle, and he already owns the Seahawks. What's to stop him from moving the Blazers up North? I mean, he really wanted the Sonics, but they weren't up for sale at the time he bought the Blazers.

oh, freakin' duh, he was totally relieved of his duties today. What can I say - it's been a long week, and an even longer month. But yeah, I'm a little pissed about it as well, but evidently it isn't that big of deal, or else I might have remembered before writing out that long post, hehe.
Life goes on, but it's still a very stupid decision.

What I am wondering is; Who is running things for the Clippers?
I always thought that Elgin and Dunleavy only carried those "titles." They have gotten outstanding value the past couple drafts with Eric Gordon, DeAndre Jordan, Al-Faruoq Aminu, Eric Bledsoe and Willie Warren. Blake Girffin was a no brainer.

Just what the Wizards need... another PG that plays SG. Doesn't make much sense to me aside from the Wiz getting another draft pick. Hinrich did a pretty good job helping Rose get adjusted, think they're hoping he'll do the same with Wall. He's just a great guy to have around. Works really friggin' hard and is a top 5 defender at the PG position. As a team who just had gun incidents and players thugging it up, wouldn't a high character guy like Hinrich be a good guy to bring in?

It wasn't just Pritchard calling the shots in Portland. Also, he was beginning to rub a lot of other GM's the wrong way. I heard he likes to gloat about his success, and that began to wear on some people's nerves.
As for Hinrich - I guess you're right, Brian. But the wiz already sport a guard heavy roster. And who knows how Hinrich, and Wall will get along. I'm sure there won't be any problems, but the question over Arenas' future is huge, cos both Hinrich, and Arenas will want to be mentors, and there is only room for one of those. It could produce some locker room fireworks if the Wiz can't find a way to unload Arenas and that nasty contract.

I don't see how they're guard heavy. Hinrich's not really a starter. Wall/Arenas/Hinrich is a good rotation to have. Who else is there? Keep in mind that Foye's a free agent in 6 days. You also gotta consider that they're still trying to (and very well could) move Arenas. Hinrich will get minutes in Washington, bottom line imo.

I see what you mean. They have like 5 players under contract. Still, if the Wiz can't get rid of Arenas, I can see their being problems. I mean, we also have Nick Young to think about, and the fact that Howard, and Miller could re-sign. That's a loaded backcourt, and all those guys are going to demand minutes. But, I do think Hinrich will be good for Wall.
