Has not hired an agent and plans on going to UConn if he is not a high pick. Averaged 22 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks last season at St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen, N.J. Has long arms and is very athletic and mobile for a player his size. Aggressive in the paint. Still raw on offense, and a few years at UConn would likely help. Potential to be a real force in the SSBL in a few years. Very strong for just 19 years old. Natural shot blocker, and excellent at putbacks.
Andrew Bogut C 7'0'' 245 21 B- D+ C- B+ B- B
The most fundamentally sound bigman of the 2005 draft. He averaged 20.4 points and 12.2 rebounds for the Utes last season while shooting 64 percent from the field. An intimidating presence in the post who already possesses SSBL-level strength and conditioning, he is also a strong ball handler with good court vision. After showcasing his mental toughness and playing well against Tim Duncan during the Athens Olympics, Bogut has the potential to become one of the SSBL's elite big men.
Robert Swift C 7'0'' 240 20 C+ D D B B A
After spending a season at USC where he led the team in blocks, Swift enters the draft for good after hiring an agent. Since his withdrawal last season, Swift has significantly improved his post game - become stronger and quicker in the block. Still needs to work on his scoring ability. Will be a shotblocking force from Day 1 in the SSBL. Improved positioning when rebounding. Still possesses the potential to be a solid player for any team in the league and after a year of fine tuning is skills, could be a sure shot lottery selection this year.
OVERSEAS ENTRANT (FC Barcelona 1 Year)Marcin Gortat C 7'1'' 265 20 C+ C- D+ B B- BGortat is a prototypical center, with a jumpshot. He can easily make a 15 foot jumper if wide open. An excellent shotblocker and is exceptionally quick for his size which allows him to move off his man on defense for the block. Has the ability to move around the rim and score, but shouldn't be relied upon. Very athletic - a decent leaper with quick feet. Should not have any trouble defending other centers in the SSBL.
Martynas Andriuskevicius C 7'2'' 240 19 C+ C C B- C+ BHis passing, shooting ability and court awareness are above average. Uses height to pass over shorter defenders to driving guards. Good free-throw shooter, and has some touch from 3-point range. Solid fundamentals and runs the floor well. Although he is not particularly strong, does not play timid. Can play in the post and on the perimeter. Still growing into his frame. Often gets pushed out of the paint. A good shot-blocker and defender with long arms and quickness. Still only 19 and has a lot of room to grow. Some teams could take a long look at him as a late round pick.
OVERSEAS ENTRANT (FMP Železnik 1 yr)Mile Ilic C 7'1'' 235 21 C+ C- C B- B- BConsidered one of the better international big-men prospects in the draft. Is well coordinated. Has good hands and a versatile post-game. Excellent passer for his size, and will always find the open man if double teamed. Is not a strong rebounder for a 7-footer, despite excelling on the offensive glass. Can score while facing the hoop and with his back to the basket, but needs to add muscle to compete more in the post. Defense is set to be his strong suit in a few years, and has a very sound foundation on help defense. Good shot blocking instincts and his strength makes him an intimidating presence in the block.
Dwayne Jones C 6'11'' 250 22 C+ D D- B- B BHis big frame makes him an imposing player in the post. Definitely alters shots although lacks coordination to block many of them. Despite his size, he is not very strong and gets pushed around a lot. Has a soft touch around the rim, and is great on the glass. No business handling the ball except on quick passes around the perimeter. No range, and no jumpshot period. Simply a post player who needs to be at the rim on offense to be effective.
OVERSEAS ENTRANT (Girona 1 Year)Fran Vasquez C 6'11'' 238 22 B- C- C- B- C+ BIs considered to be one of the few big men in draft that can come in and contribute immediately. Must get stronger and tougher, as European players entering the league usually play soft and don't mix it up in the paint, especially on the defensive end. Very long and athletic. Runs floor well, but perimeter game needs work.
OVERSEAS ENTRANT (FC Barcelona 1 yr)Marc Gasol C 7'1'' 265 20 B- C- C B C+ BPossibly one of the most interesting overseas prospects in the draft. Brother of Pau Gasol of the Cavaliers. Possesses similar skill set as his brother, but some say could benefit from his continued play in Spain. Has great offensive skills, and could be better than Pau in a few years time. Very strong and athletic. Already a disruptive defender at just 20 years old, but must get better at rebounding.
OVERSEAS ENTRANT (Estudiantes 3 yrs)Caio Torres C 6'11'' 260 18 B- D C C+ B- BGreat post scorer. Possesses a natural feel on offense and is very strong for his age. Great body frame, definitely SSBL ready. Scouts question potential, primarily playing backup for the Spanish club. Generally a force if the offense is fed through him as he has the ability to dish it out to the perimeter when double teamed. Great court vision and has an incredibly high IQ for a 18 year old bench player. Defense is lacking for Torres, and that is one thing he will have trouble adjusting to in the SSBL.
Julius Lamptey C 7'1'' 290 19 C D- D- B- B- BHuge body with no inside offensive ability. Wide frame, gets a lot of blocks just because of his long arms. Not athletic. His only asset is his size and he uses it to excel in rebounding and altering shots.
Jermaine Bell C 6'11'' 190 21 C+ D+ D+ B C CExcellent shot blocker, and very athletic. His downfall is his weight - an extremely lanky player with no size to muscle with centers in the post. Will get pushed around incredibly in the SSBL. Could be a good bench player that gets spot minutes to help on defense, but nothing more. No rebounding ability. Not a good ball handler or shooter. An offensive liability.
WILDCARD ENTRANTRandolph Morris C 6'10'' 266 19 C+ C- D C B CReally doesn't do anything great except rebound the ball, which he can because of his size. Big body that is able to move players around and alter some shots, but rarely blocks them. A terrible post defender. Has decent range on his shot, but his mechanics are terrible. Needs to be wide open to consider making one.
Deji Akindele C 7'1'' 240 22 C+ D F C B- CAnother player without a good foundation to be a legitimate center in the SSBL. While Akindele has considerable size, he only rebounds at an average clip, and should not be expected to play defense. Will probably have a career on the IR, if not going undrafted altogether.
