This is a match-up of those other two teams in California. The two teams played 4 games in the regular season and finished 2-2. The drama part is Andre Miller was drafted to be the future at point guard for the Clippers yet when Jaric came over from Europe the job became his and Miller was sent packing for Murray a backup tweener guard.
Centers: This really should be one of the strengths of the Clippers. The Clippers have Candyman who Averaged 19 points 11 boards. He plays A defense although is an average shot blocker. Borchard appears to be starting for the Kings at center. He averages 9 boards and 6 points. He plays B defense. Favors Clippers
Power Forward: The question about this match-up is whether the Clippers defensive stud can stop the Kings scoring stud. Eddie Griffin averaged 8.5 points and 10.9 boards. He plays A- defense and gets 2.4 blocks per game. Webber scores 27 points per game with 10.8 rebounds. It should be interesting to see if the Clippers defensive front-line can slow him down. Favors Kings
Small Forward: Corliss Williamson has consistently signed one year deals on the cheap for the Clippers and then played well. He averages 14.8 points per game with 5.6 rebounds shooting over 50 percent. He plays A- defense which he will need. Al Harrington scores 20 per game and gets 7 boards while playing A- defense. Favors Kings by a little.
Shooting guard: Walker is a stud at sg scoring 23 a game with 8.9 boards and playing A- defense. Q-Richardson scores 19 per game with 7 boards A both players like to turn it over. Kings by a little.
Point Guard: Andre Miller former Clipper has been shipped around some. He averages 13.4 points with 8.9 assists. He has 2.6 TO and 1.2 steals with B defense. Marko Jaric averages 15.5 points per game and 9.9 assists. He has 2.1 TO per game with 2.1 steals and B+ defense. Basically Jaric is slightly better in every category. Slight favor towards Clippers.
Bench top three players: Wright, Battier and Murray for the Clippers. Wright was the 6th man of the year averaging almost a double double. Battier is not a big scorer but can knock them down from outside and plays great defense. Murray scored 7.5 off the bench shooting well from outside. Battie, Lawrence Funderburke, Anthony Johnson all are serviceable but played few minutes. The Kings mostly go with their starters. Favors Clippers
Overall it should be a close and interesting series. Will the Clippers have the defense to slow down the big three of the Kings? Will the lack of depth hurt the Kings? We shall see.
