We will take a look at the shooting guard class for the Western Conference.
Western Conference
Projected Starter
Allen Iverson Vancouver Grizzlies
current stats: 28.5ppg 5.6rpg 5.4apg 2.6spg 1.8tpg
Iverson can light it up, no doubt. He is not getting any younger, but is a very sold all around player. He can score from anywhere on the court and is considered to be a top player in the league. He is 2nd in the league in scoring, but by a fraction. The Grizzlies have a 3 headed monster, and he could be the strongest. Iverson is no doubt starting quality. We would be shocked if someone else was chosen as the start.
The Competition
Joe Johnson Portland Trailbazers
current stats: 25.9ppg 6.5rpg 5.4apg 2.4spg
Johnson is a young shooter. Portland is led by his shooting and he doesn't disappoint. He has room to improve and should be a contender for a starting spot for the next 8 or so years. He only hopes that Iverson gets injured between now and the ASG to take over the starting spot.
Grant Hill Dallas Mavericks
current stats: 19ppg 7.4rpg 3.7apg 2.2spg
Hill is playing out of position, but still fills the stat sheet. he was recently sent to Dallas via LA, and has really helped the Mavericks become a better team. He may not see an All-Star bid this year, but should get a strong look due to his history in the ASG.
Gilbert Arenas Phoenix Suns
current stats: 21.3ppg 41rpg 3.6apg 1.6spg
Arenas is in his rookie season and leads the Suns in scoring. He may not get an All-Star bid, but his only a short time away from being one. There is nothing sunny going on in Phoenix except for Arenas. The scoring load goes on Arenas' shoulders, and he is doing a fine job.
Eddie House Seattle Supersonics
current stats: 18.8ppg 2.2rpg 2.8apg 1.5spg
This spot should read Kobe Bryant, but not in Seattle. The Seattle GM likes to keep people on their toes, and this is another one of his tricks. He has praised House's scoring efforts, and hence why he lands on this list. He won't make the ASG, but is a solid scorer.
