The 2003 SSBL All Star Weekend s upoin us and with that we will take a look at who is worthy of being a SSBL All Star.

We will take a look at the point gaurd class for the Western Conference.
Western Conference
Projected Starter
Jason Kidd Vancouver Grizzlies
current stats: 23.5ppg 11.7apg 2.5spg 2.6tpg
Kidd should be the starter when the ballots are announced. He will have a few guys challenging him fo the spot, but should overcome that. he is puting up stellar numbers on a very good team. he is the general for the team and is a big reason why they are the best team in the entire league. Kidd may be on the decline, but still is considred a top player in this league. He is 2nd in assists and 4th in steals. Pretty impressive, and should notch him the starting gig.

Steve Nash San Antonio Spurs
current stats: 20.4ppg 10.0apg 2.1spg 2.9tpg
Nash is putting up solid number again this season. He has also been known as a first pass PG, but has no problem scoring. he needs to since the Spurs need more scoring than just from McGrady. Nash might sneak in as the backup to Kidd. He is one among several PGs that could find their spot as a reserve. The West is clearly stronger at the PG spot than the East.
Kobe Byant Seattle Supersonics
current stats: 28.6ppg 9.7apg 2.5spg 3.3tpg
League MVP again? He was moved to the PG spot by the Seattle GM and hasnt skipped a beat. He scores in bunches and isnt afraid to share the ball too. His MVp status alone could make him a strong candidate for the starting PG, but in the end we think he may find a reserve spot.
Chauncey Billups Denver Nuggets
current stats: 13.5ppg 12.1apg 1.9spg 3.4tpg
Billups leads the league in assists. He may struggle to find a reserve spot due to the fact he isnt muich of a scoring threat like the others. His defense isnt as prominant as the others, as well. Another reason he may miss the party, is due to his team;s record. Billups leads the team, but that isnt saying much.
