Chris Kaman C 7'0 255 Central Michigan Jr. 21 B- D+ D+ B+ B- B
Agile, runs well, is a better-than-average jumper and has an assortment of low-post moves. He can finish with either hand in the paint. He's also a shot-blocker, averaging 3.2 this past season. Needs to gain some upper-body strength, but knows it and is willing to work hard.
Sofoklis Schortsanitis C 6'9 300 Greece 18 B D D+ B- C+ A
The Greek "Baby Shaq" is smart, aggressive and tough,. An emerging talent. He's got some moves in the paint, shoots a jump hook and can also step out to about 18 feet. Schortsanitis is a hard worker who will only get better. The only knock on him right now is inexperience. He's just 18 years old. This could be a plus.
Eddy Curry C 6'11 285 DePaul So 21 B+ D D- B C B
What's up with Curry these days? He's adapted college ball and has made strides in his defensive abilities. Was at once point 300+ lb and has got down to 280~285. A back-to-the-basket traditional center. Has a soft touch in the paint and can shoot a baby hook. Still not a great rebounder but at least his defense has gotten slightly better.
Kendrick Perkins C 6'10 280 Clifton Ozen HS (TX) 19 C+ D D+ B B- B
The massive Perkins originally signed with Memphis, but will test his draft potential. Perkins has a fairly advanced low-post game, with a variety of moves and a deadly jump hook. He's got great hands, knows how to pass out of double teams and has great defense fundamentals. He isn't a great leaper in general, and he also needs to learn how to bring it every night. But he'll be given time to shore up his weaknesses in the pros if he makes the jump from high school.
Rafael Araujo C 6'11 285 BYU Jr. 23 C+ C- D C+ C+ A
A physical player who is not afraid to bang underneath. Araujo runs the floor well and gets good low post position. He has excellent strength and is a better athlete than given credit for. He made strong strides in all aspects of his game.
Zaur Pachulia C 6'11 240 Georgia 19 B- C- D+ C+ C+ B
With his back to the basket, Pachulia is extremely gifted. He has a feel for the post, rolling off his defender to the weak side for clean releases on the offensive end. He is a good passer and runs the floor well and is willing to mix it up in traffic. Will need to develop his low-post game and increase his size and strength. Not very athletic, so shot-blocking is not his strength. Young and is still growing and improving..
Slavko Vranes C 7'4 250 Serbia 20 C D+ D B C+ C
Vranes is long, making him a natural disruptive force on the defensive end; it's hard to shoot over him. He's fairly mobile for his size and plays smart, sticking to what he does best. Vranes will have to get stronger while working on his offensive skills. Can be foul prone.
James Lang C 6'9 305 Central Park Christ. HS (AL) 20 B- D D C+ C+ B
Lang is huge and can already bang with anyone. He's fairly athletic and mobile for his size and has good hands. Lang can score in the post and is relentless there, but needs to improve his range and touch on medium-range jump shots. Consistency could be a problem, and he'll probably have to shed some more weight (he once weighed close to 400 pounds).
Malick Badiane C 6'11 225 Senegal 20 C D+ D+ B- C+ C
Of all the players who have come from Senegal, Badiane stands out with the best of them in terms of sheer athletic ability. He's also long, with a huge wingspan. He can score inside, but also has a face-up game. His leaping ability and arms make him a deadly shot blocker. Badiane will have to get stronger and tougher to play in the NBA, but he's got a great upside.
Nedzad Sinanovic C 7'2 230 Bosnia 20 C D+ D+ B- B- B
Sinanovic has the height and is only 20, but spent all of last season playing for the junior team of Zenica Celik, which isn't exactly a European powerhouse to begin with.
Andreas Gliniadakis C 7'1 278 Greece 22 C+ D D+ B C+ C
Large guy. Has barely played for his teams in the Greek League. Another gamble on a European player based on size alone.
