Amar'e Stoudemire PF 6'10 245 Memphis Fr. 21 B C- C- B- C+ A
Opted to play at Memphis for a year where he polished his skills. Strong offensive-minded big man who wants to dunk every possession. Plays hard every night and attacks the rim aggressively. A face-up 4/5 with no back-to-the-basket game. Has worked on his perimeter game and his jumpshot looks sweeter and sweeter every passing day. Not the best defender...at times gives up. Isn't a great rebounder as he spends a lot of time just watching a play fold down instead of boxing out and fighting for the ball.
Chris Bosh PF 6'10 210 Georgia Tech Fr. 19 B- C C- B B- A
An inside-outside scorer with great athleticism and a solid feel for the game. Handles the ball exceptionally well for his size and is also a good passer. Bosh is also good defensively thanks to his long arms that helps him block a few shots. The knock on Bosh is his size. He’s going to have to add bulk and strength in order to consistently do battle with NBA power forwards. The guy is pretty skinny.
Darko Milicic PF 7'0 245 Serbia 18 C+ C- C- B- B- A
Bigger than the average SF to contain and too quick to be held in check by the average PF. Milicic knows how to score, uses his long arms to block shots and dominate on the glass and is considerably more athletic than a player his size has a right to be. He's going to need to add some bulk and strength and refine his post moves, because at times he's too reliant on his perimeter game. One scout said, "He's used to playing against older guys and getting beat up. So I don't think he'll be in awe. Definitely, there will be an adjustment period. Yao Ming went through it. But I don't think there will be any intimidation. There will be high expectations, because he's a guy who's going to get drafted high, but, ultimately, I think he'll live up to it." Boom or bust player right here.
Charlie Villanueva PF 6'11 240 Blair Academy HS (NJ) 19 C+ C+ D+ C+ B- A
Has good court vision and a perimeter game to go along with his post-up abilities. Very versatile. May not be big enough to pound with the power forwards in the Pros, and might not have the defensive ability to stay with smaller forwards in the league. While few question his skills and potential, the area of most concern is his focus. Tends to be inconsistent and his intensity fluctuates. Some question his heart and attitude.
David West PF 6'9 240 Xavier Sr. 23 B- C D+ B C+ B
A tremendous competitor and team player, a guy who makes those around him better. He's smart and athletic, has great shooting touch and moves in the post and isn't afraid of the blue collar jobs. West is a solid defender and fine rebounder. He's kind of a tweener size for the pros. He's not skilled enough on the perimeter to play small forward, so he'll be stuck at the four spot in the SSBL. If heart means anything, West won't be overmatched on many occasions.
Chris Wilcox PF 6'10 221 Maryland Jr. 21 B- D+ D+ B- B- B
Wilcox is a great athlete who can run and leap with anyone. Those skills make him an acrobatic finisher on the break. Wilcox has good touch in the post and he can also block shots.
Nick Collison PF 6'10 255 Kansas Sr. 23 C+ C- D+ C+ B+ C
Was a great college player who should forge out a nice Pro career thanks to his better-than-average athleticism and court awareness. He uses his size to his advantage to do scoring damage in the post, and he was one of the top rebounders in the college game. Is there a knock on Collison? Not one that stands out except maybe his shot blocking. He'll just have to learn how to adjust to the pro game, and keep getting stronger, which will be an area where he can stand out. The stronger he becomes, the more effective he'll be in the paint.
Jamal Sampson PF 6'11 235 California So. 20 C+ D+ D+ B- C+ B
A long-armed athlete who can rebound and block shots, so he's not without plusses. Sampson won't make anyone forget his cousin, former player Ralph Sampson, but he's raw and coachable.
Mike Sweetney PF 6'8 260 Georgetown Jr. 21 C+ C- D B- B- B
Sweetney is a hard worker who hustles and isn't afraid to mix it up inside. He's mobile, has good hands and knows how to score. But he's not a great athlete, and he could be a bit undersized for the power-forward position. Averaged a double-double in college. The guy isn't a stud but he is a bull.
Matt Bonner PF 6'10 235 Florida Sr. 23 C+ B- D+ B- C+ C
The "Red Rocket" developed an inside game at Florida, but he was always more of a perimeter threat. Can he bang inside in the pros? That's the question general managers will have to ask themselves if they consider drafting him. Few player will work harder, and there might not be anyone more intelligent.
Brian Cook PF 6'10 240 Illinois Sr. 23 C+ B- D+ C+ B- B
Has the ability to play either forward spot because he's got a solid post game, but he's also effective facing the basket, with range to 18 feet. He can also handle the ball and makes a lot of free throws, but he might be better suited to add some bulk and play power forward. Cook wasn't the most consistent player in college and sometimes his desire has been questioned. Tends to fall in love with chucking up threes.
Maciej Lampe PF 6'11 240 Poland 18 C C+ D+ C+ C+ A
Lampe is just 18 years old, but has some upside. He can shoot, handle the ball and has good quickness for a man his size, but he still might be better suited to play PF, where he'll be tough to stop when he develops an arsenal of moves. His only drawback right now is his youth and inexperience, but some scouts see his rawness as a plus...a chance to get better. His defense needs work as he is not the best of shot blockers.
Mario Austin PF 6'8 265 Mississippi State Jr. 21 C+ C D+ B- C+ B
Austin has a great post game, makes his share of free throws and is a solid rebounder. He's got an emerging perimeter game. The knocks are his size (could be a tweener in the pros) and the fact that he's not a huge defensive presence (shot blocker) in the paint.
Zarko Cabarkapa PF 6'11 235 Serbia 22 C+ D+ D+ C B- C
Skilled and smart; he really knows how to play. He's got a varied offensive game and can score inside, on the drive, or from the perimeter. Huge wingspan allows him to get his shot off on most anyone, and he can be a disruptive presence defensively. He's also a gifted passer. Needs to gain some upper-body strength and bulk. Won a gold medal as a reserve with the Yugoslavian team at the 2002 world championships.
Jerome Beasley PF 6'10 241 North Dakota Sr. 23 B- C+ D+ B- C C
Has the ability to score inside or out. He works hard in the paint and can also step out past the three-point line and make shots. Beasley had decent mobility, but needs to work more on his post moves. Occasionally he can be overly reliant on his perimeter game. He'll have to tone his body.
Sani Ibrahim PF 6'10 245 Oak Hill Academy HS (VA) 20 C+ D C- C B- B
The Nigerian native has a nice soft touch for a big man and uses quick leaping ability grab boards and block occasional shots. Needs to work on post defense in general. As a senior at Oak Hill Academy, averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Regarded as one of the top 50 high school players in the nation.
Szymon Szewczyk PF 6'10 245 Poland 21 C+ B- D+ B- C+ C
His father was a Polish basketball star for many years. The younger Szewczyk possesses a well-rounded game and is an excellent scorer who can get his points anywhere on the court. He's going to have to add some bulk and strength.
Remon Van de Hare PF 7'0 224 Netherlands 21 C C D+ B C+ C
The Dutch center played just one game for F.C. Barcelona in the Spanish league each of the past two seasons. While his height is intriguing, it's hard to get a good read on his skills with such little playing time.
Rick Rickert PF 6'11 220 Minnesota So. 20 C+ B D+ C C+ C
Rickert can score from the outside but doesn't have what you would call great perimeter skills. That could relegate him to power forward in the SSBL, but at 220 pounds, he's got a long way to go until he's big and strong enough to consistently battle in the paint.
Brandon Hunter PF 6'7 260 Ohio University Sr. 23 C+ C+ C- C+ B+ C
Strong rebounder and scorer. Also shot 33.9 percent from 3-point range in his career. For a short PF, he's a wide-body and a hard-worker.
