Dwyane Wade SG 6'4 210 Marquette Jr. 21 B C+ C+ B+ C A
Very athletic and can get in the lane at will. Can score in a crowd and can elevate to rock the rim. Smart defender who gets steals and blocks even for a SG. Will need to work on his shooting, especially at the FT line where he's not terrible, not great. Can hit an occasional three but not known as a shooter.
Gilbert Arenas SG 6'3 191 Arizona Sr. 21 B- B B- B- C- B
Finally declaring after flirting with the WC for multiple seasons. He's a PG with a scorer's mentality. Plays good defense. Turnover-prone though. Needs to work on decision-making and shot-selection. Could be a ball-hog at times. Should have declared in earlier years. In a stacked draft class, it will be interesting where he will get drafted this year.
Kevin Martin SG 6'7 188 Western Carolina So. 20 C+ B+ C C+ C- A
Has a scorer's mentality and scores in a variety of ways. Great shooter although his release is very unorthodox. Has good height for a 2 guard but very thin and not very strong. His knock would be his defense.
Ben Gordon SG 6'3 200 Connecticut So. 20 C A- C+ B- D+ B
Gordon is a combo guard but more of a SG who plays better off the ball, especially coming off down-screens. Good shooting stroke especially from deep. Short for a SG but has good strength, surprisingly. If he will play the PG position, he'll need to be a better handler and passer.
Leandrinho Barbosa SG 6'3 176 Brazil 21 C B+ B- C+ D B
The Brazilian Blur is lightning quick. Him and TJ Ford should have a race because I don't know who'd win. Can get to the rim like TP but doesn't always finish strong. Is a better outside shooter although his release looks funny. Defense will be a concern. Like BG, will need to improve handling and passing if he will remain a PG in this league.
Lenny Cooke SG 6'6 206 Memphis Fr. 21 B- C C C+ C B
Cooke and Amar'e were a fun tandem at Memphis, and Cooke did improve slightly in one season. Still, not a very high-ranked prospect because he's still raw. He improved on defense a bit. He's still great around the rim. But his jumper still needs work as does his defense.
Marquis Daniels SG 6'6 200 Auburn Sr. 22 C+ B- C B- C B
He spent his junior year playing PG so he can be a playmaker if he wants to be. Versatile offensively and defensively. Only average shooter and not very dependable jumpshot.
Willie Green SG 6'4 200 Detroit Mercy Sr. 22 C+ C+ C+ B- C- B
Green is a scorer with decent size at the guard position. He ranked 11th in the country in scoring his senior season with 22.6 points per game.
Aleksandar Pavlovic SG 6'7 210 Serbia 20 C+ B- C B- C B
Pavlovic is an athletic foreign prospect who can attack the rim, score on pull-up jump shots or hit from the perimeter. He's experienced and knows how to play the game. A solid passer. Whether he can defend at the SSBL level is the big question. His offensive game is unquestioned
Keith Bogans SG 6'5 215 Kentucky Sr. 23 C+ B- C B C C
Bogans wisely stayed around for four years at Kentucky which allowed him to improve his overall game. This past season Bogans developed into a leader on an unheralded team that ended the regular season ranked No. 1 in the country. He's a solid player who can do a lot of things well, but his offensive game has always been predicated on his jumper. When the perimeter shots fall, Bogans could be hard to stop. The knock on Bogans is his speed and upside.
Travis Hansen SG 6'6 210 BYU Sr. 25 C+ B- C B- C C
He went on a Mormon mission and returned to school as a 25 years old. The maturity will serve him well, as will his offensive skills. He can get his own shot by slashing to the rim, or he can spot up and make 3-pointers. He's also a good rebounder and can make free throws. His assists-to-turnover numbers weren't great, so he'll have to learn to take better care of the ball.
Sani Becirovic SG 6'5 200 Slovenia 22 B- C+ C+ C C- A
Suffered knee injuries that caused him to be dropped from the Virtus Bologna team in 2002. But before that, this guy was great around the rim and solid off the dribble. Has good quickness and passing but not very gifted defensively.
Matt Carroll SG 6'6 210 Notre Dame Sr. 23 C A- C C+ C C
A game-breaking shooter who became Notre Dame's all-time leader in three-pointers made. He has great size for the shooting-guard position and uses it to his advantage. He's a good rebounder and often drew the opposing team's best perimeter player on defense. Good FT shooter too. Not afraid to take big shots. Will have to prove he can defend.
Marcus Hatten SG 6'1 185 St. John's Sr. 23 C C+ C- B+ C D
Doesn't have the size to play two-guard, but that is his best position. He's a good scorer off the dribble or from the perimeter, where he has deep range on his shot. He's also a competitor who hates to lose and doesn't mind taking the big shots at crunch time. Can be a streaky shooter. Hatten doesn't have pure point-guard skills, but that's the position he'll have to learn in order to play in the league.
Kirk Penney SG 6'5 220 Wisconsin Sr. 23 C B+ C+ C C- D
Penney is a strong outside shooter who shot 39 percent from beyond the arc in his career. Penney has plenty of international experience being a native of New Zealand who played for the 02 World Championships.
Carl English SG 6'5 205 Hawaii Sr. 22 C B C- C C D
Has great size for his position, and scouts love his shooting ability. English is a good rebounder and is smart with the ball, although his poor Ast/TO ratio was pretty bad.
