Yao Ming C 7'5 296 China 22 B C D B B- A
Really tall and really skilled. Averaged 30+ PPG in China but he was a man among boys. Has shown a mid range game. He has no hops though, but allot of skill. Solid defender but very slow. Also a terrific shot blocker. His biggest criticism is that he is too soft, so he will have to learn to shake that tag. Still, the biggest thing to come out of China since the Great Wall.
Joel Pryzbilla C 7'1 242 Minnesota Sr. 23 C+ D F+ B+ B- C
A big body with impressive defensive skills and awareness. Very good shotblocker, probably the best next to Eddie Griffin of SHU. Very good rebounder. He's strong too. but not very athletic. Not a good scorer at all really. Really slow. But a good player.
Nenad Krstic C 6'11 214 Yugoslavia 19 C C C- C+ C+ A
He's thin, but scouts really like this Euro big man. Is not a banger down low at all, but has a very good mid-range game. Also not a bad ball-handler. He'll need to get stronger and better at defense. Still young and has a lot to learn.
Curtis Borchardt C 7'0 245 Stanford Jr. 22 C+ C C- B B+ C
Borchardt simply can block shots with anyone in this draft. He can finish around the bucket and he can run. He continues to develop more post moves and he's a pleasure to be around. Borchardt has had only one injury-free season and that could scare a team or two. He still needs to get stronger and be able to rebound in traffic. He has to finish with a bit more authority, too. Stretching his shooting out further would help.
Dan Gadzuric C 6'11 240 UCLA Sr. 24 C+ F+ D+ B B- C
Four years of college and Pro scouts are still talking about potential. Gadzuric has the athleticism and skill set to dominate in the post, but rarely does. Has never lived up to expectations. Gadzuric has waxed hot and cold his entire career. Struggles in the post when he's double teams. An atrocious free throw shooter and a poor perimeter defender. Injury problems scare scouts off even more.
David Andersen C 6'11 237 Australia 22 C+ C D+ C+ C+ B
Great athleticism for a big man and a solid low-post repertoire. He has a soft touch from 15 feet on in, has the ability to put the ball on the floor and shows surprising strength on the block down low. Andersen will need to put on weight to be able to play effectively in the post. His upper body seems to be defined, but he doesn't have the lower body to hold his position in the post. After an incredible year last season, he's leveled off a bit.
Mario Kasun C 7'1 255 Croatia 22 B- D+ D+ C+ C A
Pretty skilled down low but not a very good defender or rebounder, but definitely has room for improvement. Will play overseas next year.
DJ Mbenga C 7'0" 255 Belgium 22 C D D B C+ B
He is a large, large man. Can block shots but his bball-IQ isn't very high. Hasn't been playing very long. Mostly a defender/shotblocker at this point in his career. Very strong but not athletic. Not very explosive and fairly slow. A stretch to say that he will be picked in the 1st round, but I'm sure there's a team out there that could use a 7'0" bigman.
Andy Ellis C 6'11 225 Texas Tech Sr. 22 C+ B- D B- C+ D
Ellis played well at the Portsmouth Invitational, showing off his ability to run the floor and make 3-pointers.
Jason Jennings C 7'0 247 Arkansas State Sr. 23 C C D B C D
Decent, not great scorer in the post. He's also a shot-blocker. Pro teams love big men in the draft. Jennings fits the profile of a player who should get a look, even though his low-post skills are far from polished.
Chris Christoffersen C 7'2 300 Oregon Sr. 23 C D D C C D
Helped himself by working out with Yao. He showed he could handle defending a bigger player and was able to make mid-range shots over the taller Yao. He also showed he's got some low-post moves. He's still a developing talent, considering he didn't play as much basketball prior to arriving at Oregon. Christoffersen is still not a finished product and that's why he won't go in the first round. The workout with Yao means he's got a chance to go in the second round. He runs the floor well and it helped him to play up-tempo at Oregon.
Kris Lang C 6'11 232 North Carolina Sr. 23 C+ D+ D+ C C+ D
Lang is a good athlete who can help any Pro team, though not as a front-line scorer. Lang is competitive and a good athlete who knows what to do with the basketball. He shot better than 50 percent for his four-year career at North Carolina.
