This deal serves 2 purposes; 1st off, it gets the Mavs under the HC so we can actually compete this season

Secondly, I make this deal because I'm bringing in a solid star player in Russell. Yes he went down in TC but he's an upgrade over Harden and would give me more than Reese would off the bench. Reese was my pet project who can be a hell of a player down the road, but I'm already dedicated to keeping Knight in town, so he was moveable. Looking to contend this season, so more moves will be made. Great, easy dealing JCarter - good luck this season bud

Mavs Accept. While we didn't plan on moving Westbrook already, we are pretty confident Reese is going to be a stud, especially with 3 camps and 2 potential dleague stints still available to him. Harden is a downgrade, but like Reese, also has 3 camps left and can still score and defend nicely.

Mavs cut Luther Head to make roster space.
