In this article I will look at a few things that stood out to me in SSBLV3. We start things off by looking at the domination of the Eastern Conference. There were nine championships, the Eastern Conference won 7 of them. The Atlanta Hawks won 3, The Bullets won 2, Knicks won 1 and the Bucks won the final championship ever in the league. For the West the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves won the only championships for the Western Conference.
The all time victory leader was the New York Knicks who had one of the most fearsome front courts in the league. Rik Smits and Roy Tarpley lead a dominant attack and certainly was a duo that caused problems for all teams. I think anyone saw this happening as Smits was a defensive beast and Tarpley was a walking double double. The team that lost the most was the Chicago Bulls. Looking back I can't recall a definitive franchise player for the Bulls, it's ironic that the league ended when they finally found the Answer to what they were looking for all along.
The very first pick in the creation draft was Michael Jordan. He went first overall to the Washington Bullets. He eventually led them to two titles and was the most dominant point guard that this league ever seen. The other first round picks in the draft were Gary Payton, Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O'Neal, Anfernee Hardaway, Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki.
Who can forget some great blunders in SSBL history? When the creation draft started the Raptors wanted to start a young team that can grow with hopefully the first pick in the draft. The Raptors had the ninth overall pick and selected center Vlade Divac. They passed on such talents as Scottie Pippen, Larry Bird, Kevin Johnson, Domnique Wilkens etc. To make things even worse they ended up with the sixth pick in the 1990 draft and selected Toni Kukoc who never panned out.
Who can forget Mark Blount? The most winningest general managers Len Bias decided to leave the league because of a typing error. He believed he was getting a center that was 7'10. However everyone knew that this was a mistake, except on Knicks GM. He was in such a uproar that he decided to walk away and never look back. His whereabouts are now unknown.

Drazen Petrovic won four three point shootouts. No other player won more than one. Some other winners include Dana Barros, Reggie Miller, Michael Adams, Mark Price and Chuck Person. The Slam Dunk Contest had two players who won twice, Michael Jordan and Reggie Lewis. Other winners included Stacy Augmon, Clyde Drexler, Dennis Hopson, Spud Webb and Otis Smith.
There was never a hall of fame player inducted. Most sim leagues don't believe in the Hall Of Fame and this league was no different.
Looking back it was an interest sim league that had it's up and downs. Hopefully we can all make this league one of the best out there.
