2013 Regular Season Award Predictions.
The end of the 2013 season is almost here, and quite a year it has been. We’ve seen more trades this year then that last 2 years combined and unlikely teams such as the Suns and Clippers currently holding playoff spots. Although we have 4 sims left in the year, these are the players that I believe deserve each award.
MVP-Joe Johnson
Defensive Player of The Year- Greg Oden
Sixth Man of the Year- Kelenna Azuibuike
Rookie of the Year- Andre Drummond
All League First Team
C: Amare Stoudemire- 27.9 ppg, 11 rpg and helped lead the first place Nets to lead the East.
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge- 22.1 ppg, 12.5 rpg, and 3.1 bpg. Great all around player who can score inside and out and swats anything in his path.
SF: Lebron James- 30.2 ppg(2nd in the league) 8.3 rpg, 5.2 apg, 2 steals and 1.4 bpg. Just a stud who can literally do everything, hard to keep him off the first team.
SG: Brandon Roy- 30.1 ppg(3rd behind Lebron)6.7 rpg, 4.8 apg, 1.7 steals. Helped lead the Kings to 1st in the Pacific Division and first in the West.
PG: Joe Johnson- 23.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 10.5 apg, 2.4 steals. MVP candidate the last 5 years, and MVP several times. Great all-around player that helped the Hawks to the 2nd seed in the East.
All League Second Team
C: Al Jefferson- 23.9 ppg, 13 rpg, 2.2 bpg. Stud bigman who dominates the inside and inhales boards.
PF: Josh Smith- 21.4 ppg, 10 rpg.2.1 spg, 3.8 bpg(leads league) High flyer who flat out produces. Best shot blocker in the league who can dunk over anyone and can board with the best of them. Key component to the Kings winning season.
SF: Danny Grainger- 25.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 5.6 apg. Part of the dynamic duo that the Nets have. Can score at will and has the length to rebound and play great defense. Great distributor and key player for the Nets.
SG: Dee Brown-26.5 ppg, 4 rpg, 5.3 apg, 2.2 spg. 8th best scoring stat wise in the league. Can shoot the 3 ball and take it to the hoop. Helped the Bobcats to 4th in the East and is the main reason the Bobcats are successful at all.
PG: Monta Ellis- 26 ppg, 10.2 apg, 2.7 spg. Constant player of the Week/Month. Small but will tourch you on the court. Can score with the best of them and with his pick pocketing ability will steal your lunch money if he could.
All League Third Team
C: Andrew Bogut- 18.9 ppg, 13.4 rpg, 2.7 bpg. Traditional old school big man, back to the basket player who rebounds and blocks shots. Bogut is surrounded by scorers and knows his role as a rebounder and shotblocker who chips in with scoring as well.
PF: Elton Brand- 18.1 ppg, 10.8 rpg. Great scorer for the struggling Rockets. Efficient and good rebounder. Has a disgusting contract is small for his position but makes up for it with great scoring ability.
SF: Kevin Durant- 29.5, 8.5 rpg, 3.5 apg. One of the league’s most efficient scorers and smoothest shooters. Will probably lead the league in scoring sometime down the line and has helped the Jazz to 3rd seed in the West.
SG: Lenny Cooke- 20.4 ppg, 7.2rpg, 2.7 spg. Surprised people this year good scorer and rebounds very well for a SG. Leads the league in steals and is very defensive minded.
PG: Deron Williams- 21.4 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 10.5 apg. Deron rounds out the 3 top guns for the Mavs in the All League 3rd team. Great distributor who can take over a game whenever he wants to. Great %’s in all categories and rounds out the 3rd team
All Defensive First Team
C: Greg Oden- 10.1 rpg, 3.4 bpg. Can’t drive the ball in on Oden. He’s just too big and too strong down low and will punch anything that’s around him. Excellent rebounder as well who can lock big men up down low
PF: Josh Smith- (see stats above)can defend 5 positions easily. Athletic freak who can jump out of the building. Swats everything in his path and can take your cookies if you’re not careful.
SF: Trevor Ariza- 30.3 ppg, 7 rpg, 1.7 spg, 1 bpg. Another freakish athlete who is long and can mark up the best wing player. Blocks shots for a SF and is quick he can make up for other peoples defensive mistakes.
SG: Lenny Cooke- (see stats above) quick with his hands and pokes balls loose. Leads the league in steals with 2.7 SPG. All around player who is mainly defensive minded
PG: Monta Ellis-( see stats above) small and deceptive. Like Cooke can is quick with his hands and picks pockets all the time. Great defender who makes up with lack of size with speed and quickness.
All Defensive Second Team
C: Andrew Bogut- (see stats above) Great shot blocker and rebounder. Holds down the fort down low. Bogut alone makes teams shoot more from the outside due to his presence inside.
PF: Blake Griffin- 18 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 3.4 bpg. Another freakish athlete the has the jumping ability of African Hunters. Swats shots left and right and averages 1.1 spg.
SF: Andrei Kirilienko – 9.8 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.3 spg, 1.4 bpg. Numbers aren’t great but is a great defender. Blocks shots, steals, and rebounds well for a SF. Long and can poke balls lose and get “hands on balls”
SG: Josh Selby- 24.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 4.4 apg, 2.7 spg. B Defense but can’t argue with results. Tied for 1st in steals per game and is so quick and illusive. Steals everything and can belittle opposing players
PG: Russell Westbrook- 22.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.7 apg, 2.7 spg. Another quick and strong player. Although starts at SG, Westbrook can and does play PG occasionally. Tied for first in steals and is so athletic that he can block shots as well.
There you have it, my predictions for the Regular Season Awards. I know I didn’t do Rookies but that would take too much work.
