With one more sim left, the career of Robbysteinz hangs on the hopes of his Philadelphia 76ers making the playoffs. The 6ers started off slow and Robbysteinz started to worry about his future. He decided to pick up the phone and get into communications with fellow SSBLv4 GMs about possible trade scenarios. The first acquisition was Ray "Jesus Shuttlesworth" Allen. The sharp shooting guard from UConn did his best to revive the dying franchise in Philadelphia. He carried the team as far as they could go with the help of Chris Paul. Clearly, as the 76ers started to fall lower and lower in the standings, it wasn't enough.
The next player that Robbysteinz decided to go after was another sharp shooter in Quentin Richardson. Many worried about Q-Rich due to his inflated numbers, but Philadelphia believed that he wasn't playing over his head. They believed he was the truth. The record may not show that the Sixers are a winning team since the acquiring Q-Rich, but the Sixers have certainly moved from a possible top 5 pick into a playoff battle in the Eastern Conference as they continue to grapple tight as they can on to the 8th seed.
As the games came winding down and the black cloud over Philly remained, Robbysteinz decided to go out and mortgage some picks and young talented players like Rudy Gay in order to secure his playoff spot. The 76ers were one of the worst rebounding and defensive teams in the league with Tyrus Thomas and Marc Gasol starting at one point. A move needed to be made, so Robbysteinz made two moves in order to solidify their front court. The first trade was with RManske and the San Antonio Spurs where we saw Emeka Okafor shipped out to Philadelphia. Emeka has certainly helped out the Sixers in a tremendous way. He is getting the team a double double every night with superb defense in his contract year.
The last and final move came late last night as "Superman" Dwight Howard was also traded to Philly to help out Emeka down low. Some may question Dwight Howard since so far he has been "Super Bust" more then "Superman". Whether it was the broads sitting courtside, or the fact that he's in a contract year, Dwight Howard came to Philly this week and was an absolute beast for Philly in his first couple games. We witnessed some good scoring games, some great shot blocking games, and a terrific rebounding game where he reeled in 20 boards. Dwight is starting to show why he was drafted so high. He may not be "Superman" just yet, but the Philadelphia fans are seeing the potential in the 22 year old monster.
But as I write this the Sixers stand at 35-39 with only a .5 game lead over the Magic for the 8th spot in the East. It's not going to come down to the new players to lead this team to the playoffs. No, it's going to come down to one man, and one man only. Some may know him as the artist formerly known as Ray Allen, but here in Philly we recognize him as Jesus, Jesus Shuttlesworth. Jesus may be having a "down year" in comparable with the rest of his career, but he's still shooting 45% and is the clear cut and dry leader of this Philadelphia 76ers squad. It's not his 22.1 ppg that is going to lead this team to the playoffs and save the career of Robbysteinz, it's his super natural powers in which he needs to possess on the rest of the league. He needs to poison the Magic. He needs to poison any team that is trying to compete with the Philadelphia 76ers. He needs to save the city of Philadelphia from losing their beloved GM. He needs to save SSBLv4 from losing one of their original members. Jesus Shuttlesworth, WE NEED YOU.
