Day 64: Pistons 114 - Spurs 97[/b]
Coming out to start the second half of the season the San Antonio Spurs only had two games during a ten day period. Based on how the Spurs played in the first half of the year this might be a relief to those subjected to watch the team play. First up on the schedule was a trip to Motown to take on the Detroit Pistons on day 64. While the visiting Spurs were able to keep the game close in the first three quarters, the fourth quarter was a different story as the Pistons went on a 29-13 run to win the game comfortably. Leading the charge for Detroit was their superstar Leandro Barbosa with his game high 34 points and he had support with four other players posting in double figures. In the loss, the Spurs actually had six players in double figures with Andrew Bynum leading the team in scoring (18) and rebounding (14) as Michael Olowokandi registering a double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks in his first start in Emeka Okafor's place.
Day 69: Warriors 97 - Spurs 93[/b]
Following a few days off, the team traveled out west to the Bay Area to face off against the Golden State Warriors. In what seems to be a consistent theme for the Spurs this year, they were able to keep the game close for a while until their opponent goes on a run (this one coming in the third quarter) that they are unable to recover from and lose the game. Although Golden State only had four players in double figures, three of these players broke the 20 point mark and they were led by Andris Biedrins' big performance of 23 points and 16 rebounds in just 28 minutes of action. In the loss, the Spurs saw each member of their starting lineup post in double figures with Michael Olowokani leading the team with 19 points and tying for the team high with 8 rebounds with Marcus Williams and Andrew Bynum.
